All Work & All Play - Inside Infernozilla’s Remote First Work Culture

“Our Employees are not Children.” Spotify said the quiet part out loud, and here at Infernozilla, we wholeheartedly agree.

If you’ve spent any time on LinkedIn lately, you’ve likely come across a litany of posts about returning to office. More often than not, it’s another tech giant demanding that their employees return. These “return to office” mandates are frequently non-negotiable and disrupt lives everywhere.?

At Infernozilla, we’ve been remote-first since our inception in 2016 and will continue that way moving forward. As gamers ourselves, we know the value of creating a flexible, supportive environment that fuels productivity, creativity, and collaboration. Our work culture empowers us to tackle challenges head-on, whether putting out fires due to a game-breaking bug or delivering the next marketing campaign for our clients.?

Here's a look at how we balance our work ethic with the fun and flexibility that comes with being remote-first:

Our Natural Habitat - Discord

For gamers, Discord is more than just a chat app; it's a virtual home base. Where better to have quick voice chats, share real-time ideas, or celebrate team victories than a platform built for community interaction? It's our virtual workplace, where our day-to-day operations run smoothly, and our collaboration thrives—without the constraints of a physical office.

We’ve mastered the art of using Discord to its full potential, keeping communication flowing as we manage fast-paced projects, handle client feedback, and meet tight deadlines. Our remote-first approach has not only made us agile but also reduced our carbon footprint. Less commuting, more productivity.

6-Hour Fridays & Gaming Hour

At Infernozilla, we're passionate about maintaining a healthy work-life balance, but make no mistake—we know how to work hard. Our team often juggles tight timelines, sudden client requests, and game-breaking bugs that need to be solved yesterday. It’s all part of life at a gaming agency, but we also know that burnout doesn’t lead to great work.

That’s why we introduced 6-hour Fridays to give our team the chance to wrap up the week feeling accomplished, not overworked. Coupled with our Unlimited Paid Time Off policy, our team has the flexibility to step back, recharge, and keep creativity flowing without the fear of burnout. To recharge after a full week of projects, we sometimes spend the last hour of Friday doing what we love most—gaming. Whether it's a League of Legends match or a fun Dungeons & Dragons session, it’s our way of cooling down after putting in the hours.

Celebrating Wins Together

At Infernozilla, we understand that agency life can be challenging. From meeting tight deadlines to putting out fires, the pressure can mount quickly. That's why we make a point to celebrate victories, whether big or small, work-related or personal.

Hitting project milestones, gaining new clients, or delivering a campaign that exceeds expectations—all these moments matter, and we make time to acknowledge them. These celebrations fuel our motivation and keep us connected across time zones. With over 50 team members worldwide, our global perspective allows us to collaborate effectively while enjoying the wins together.

Fun Channels

Our remote-first culture isn’t all about work. Our team spans across the globe, and with that comes a wide variety of cultures and perspectives. We’ve cultivated a fun, supportive environment where team members can share more than just project updates. Our #infurrno-babies channel is packed with adorable pet photos that brighten anyone’s day, while the #food channel showcases global dishes and recipe ideas (plus, daily reminders from Amira to eat our veggies!).

While we take our work seriously, we also believe in connecting with our fellow team members. Whether it’s light-hearted banter about games, anime, or weekend plans, these channels help us build stronger relationships that translate into smoother teamwork and collaboration.

At Infernozilla, we’re not just about remote work—we’re about remote life. Whether we’re managing global marketing campaigns, troubleshooting game mechanics, or strategizing on the next project, our commitment to delivering results remains constant. Our setup isn’t just about fostering productivity. It ensures that every team is in the loop and has insight into what’s happening across the company, facilitating seamless collaboration and keeping us aligned on every level.

This balance between hard work and fun is what makes Infernozilla special. We take pride in creating an environment where our team can recharge and stay at the top of their game—while ensuring that our client projects get the attention and focus they deserve.

So, is Infernozilla the best place to work in gaming? We’re well on our way.
