All is Well (Sab Accha Hai) Just Smile!

All is Well (Sab Accha Hai) Just Smile!

Remember the movie " Three Idiots" shows telling "Aall is well" to our heart as a means to calm one's nerves, even when things are visibly not OK. But, it has a much deeper meaning. The whole story about the blind watchman shouting "Aal izz well!" is funny no doubt, but it says something very subtle about human psychology: It is not the situations, but our perception of the situations, that matter. While how a scenario turns out is not always in your control, accepting it and calmly thinking about the next best step is 100% in your hands. Thus the "All is Well" philosophy essentially means, that no matter how difficult a spot you are in right now, it's OK - don't lose heart, and you will find a way to come out smiling.

If said verbally, it is typically a response to the question “How are things?” and means that everything is fine, that everything is the way you (or whoever you were asked about) want it to be, you are healthy, or your current project is proceeding in the right way. It might be used written to indicate the same thing, but usually would be giving someone an update on your current condition. You could text, “I’m at the Palindrome. All is well.” It has a slightly old-fashioned sound, giving it a slightly serious or theatrical tone.

When you are doing meditation in a quiet place, imagine the freedom, the immense release & relief, when you realize (direct experience, not intellectually) that You are not all those thoughts, commands, judgments and noise running through your mind, not that nagging, narrating, psychologically assessing voice in your head. You are the Awareness of that voice, and all thoughts. And since You are only Awareness, which has no thoughts, just beingness & observation, the true You is always still, silent, and resting in a peace that passed all understanding, pure bliss. This is the real meaning of "All is Well" with our life!

Watching all that noise. While knowing It is not that noise. Imagine the freedom! Even if you never ‘progress’ any further (to samadhi, self-realization, ‘enlightenment,’ whatever) Now stop imagining, and sit in silence. For a while. Nothing needs your attention right now.Notice all those thoughts running through your head. Now notice that Something is noticing the thoughts and noise, but is not Itself a thought. It’s only watching, dispassionately. That’s all It can do, because It’s just Is-ness. It has no thoughts or judgments as a part of It, so it cannot think or judge or worry about what It’s observing, or want anything to change. Just watching. In total peace. That’s Who You Are and all is well with you. That is exactly the essence of meditation. Everything is in order means all is well.

I try not to dwell on the past (especially negative events on which I had no control). I try to do more active things (such as writing, learning and exercising) than passive things (such as watching TV and spending time on internet) in a day. I tell myself to be grateful for the things that I have and not feel upset about things I don’t. I try not to compare. I try to help others in whichever way I can and not be vengeful. I sometimes practise healing exercises since I believe that emotional and physical well-being depends on how freely your life-energy is flowing through your body. This gives me the feeling to say "All is well", Cheers!
