ALL THE WAY HOME

What’s Going on at the U.S. National Whitewater Center?
Let's talk about the U.S. National Whitewater Center on the banks of the Catawba River in the southwest area of Charlotte. In the winter months, you can find many people ice skating here both during the day and in the evening, in addition to enjoying many of the year round activities, trails and events at the Whitewater Center. It’s a great way to spend the holiday season whether it’s a bright sunny winter day or a chilly evening!
In the summer, what’s now the ice skating rink is filled with running water in its channels so that guests can enjoy the rapids whether in a raft or kayak. The US National Whitewater Center typically opens the water channels in mid March, around St. Patrick’s Day for kayaking and rafting with an fun filled event called the Green River Revival.?
This Whitewater Center was started as a non profit training ground for the U.S. Olympic Kayaking Team and quickly became a nationally known spot for enjoying outdoor activities like kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, zip lining, yoga, hiking and mountain biking.

It’s a great resource for Charlotte making it important to our local real estate market because it’s another super fun activity that the Charlotte area offers. It’s a big draw for people who have moved to Charlotte from other areas of the country. The U.S. National Whitewater is located close to the airport and right off of I-485 and I-85 making it a very convenient location to travel to by car.
To visit, guests will pay a daily parking fee of $6. You can then purchase an all day activities pass, a single activity pass or a season pass for year round enjoyment.? However, the grounds are free to walk, hike, picnic, bring your own bikes, listen to a concert or dine at the restaurant once the parking fee is paid. There are so many great activities such as zip lining, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. You can also enjoy events like outside concerts, yoga, and so much more. It’s one of my favorite places in Charlotte because there are so many fun things to do and you can visit it in all four seasons for a variety of experiences.?
