Since I have tried creating videos with subtitles, I realized how important are different tools for content creation on LinkedIn. And not only for videos but for every step on the way to a perfect post on LinkedIn. OK, let's not exaggerate here ... there is no such thing as a perfect post. ?? But there are some amazing tools that help you save your time and boost your creativity when publishing on LinkedIn.
When I started creating this list of tools I realized I use dozens of different tools to keep me organized as a LinkedIn content creator and beyond. I cannot imagine my life without them, and I strongly believe they can be useful for you, too. So here you go!
I arranged them into 12 categories:
I used one of the tools to create this colorful image. Keep on reading to learn which one!
1. LINKEDIN
This one is obvious, but I still want to point out all the features LinkedIn is giving us. We can publish different content formats, from text only, video and polls. Not to mention likes and comments, which are so valuable regarding building relationships.
LinkedIn (paid version) – using premium version gives us 5 benefits:
Sales Navigator – this is a wonderful tool that takes the prospecting to the next level
LinkedIn Learning – this is a free tool if you have the premium version of LinkedIn; it is a source of more than 13.000 online courses around numerous topics. I take time a few times per year to review all that help me stay up to date with the topics I am interested in.
2. TASK ORGANIZATION
I cannot say I am the best at time management or work organization, but I must share my love for Evernote.
Evernote is an app designed for note-taking, organizing, task management, and archiving. I have been using it for around 10 years, and I am obsessed with ticking the tasks.
Look what I am talking about (a task BEFORE and AFTER):
It is the psychological side of physically set the task as done that really motivates me.
3. DIGITAL MARKETING
Google Campaign URL Builder – my love for UTM parameters comes from the digital marketing part of my career. For every link put anywhere on the internet, I want to track it. URL Builder is a free tool that allows you to better track where your highest value traffic is coming from by using UTM parameters.
Two examples to use UTM parameters on LinkedIn:
Look at this example:
This is how I see in Google Analytics how many users came to my website from this button on my LinkedIn page:
Smart, right? Super smart!
4. PRESENTATION / COMMUNICATION
This is not so connected to publishing on LinkedIn, but still, I wanted these tools to be on the list.
Zoom – we all know Zoom, right? No explanations are needed in these times. ??
MS Teams – I am not a fan of Teams, but a lot of my clients use them, so I needed to adapt.
Mailchimp – my go-to tool for newsletters, because it is easy to use. Have you subscribed to my newsletter? Download freebies to join: https://mancakorelc.com/freebies/
Google Jamboard – this is such an amazing free tool for online presentations. Basically, it presents a whiteboard where you can put sticky notes with messages. What does it look like? See the image with 12 categories at the beginning of the article. The colorful sticky notes? You bet. ??
5. FREE IMAGES SOURCES
For LinkedIn, it is better to use your own images, but sometimes you will need some pictures.
Pixabay https://pixabay.com/ & Pexels https://www.pexels.com/ - I love these two because they have a lot of quite good photos.
Canva https://www.canva.com/ – Canva is my favorite tool of them all! Besides tons of templates for LinkedIn posts, you will find a lot of images for free or for one dollar.
Snipping tool – this comes in handy when you want to create a photo from.. basically whatever.
6. VIDEO MARKETING
I do not post a lot of videos, but when I take time, I like to use these tools.
Loom – when you want to record yourself working on your computer, Loom is my choice. You can download the video and post it natively on LinkedIn. I use the free version.
Zubtitle – the paid version is a life savior for video subtitles. It is so easy to use, we don't have an excuse not to use video subtitles anymore. Damn. ??
Canva – again and again, Canva! Create some photos, add music, animations, and save it as a video. Magic!
Video converter (from youtube to mp4) https://onlinevideoconverter.pro/en14/ – want to post a video from youtube? If it is less than 10 minutes long, post it natively to get more views. Use this tool to convert a youtube video to an mp4 format.
7. CONTENT IDEAS
Answerthepublic - https://answerthepublic.com/ - if you need an idea, what to post about, insert a keyword and get inspired by the results. Look at the photo for sales:
领英推荐
Feedly – https://feedly.com/ - Feedly helps you to keep up with the topics and trends you care about, without the overwhelm. Set your feeds and boards to never run out of content ideas.
?
8. CONTENT CREATION
Google Documents – this might sound self-evident but do use a google document for all the content you post on LinkedIn to have a history and an option to share among co-workers. Fun fact: my content google document is 279 pages long (been using it since May 2018).
Google Sheet – this is golden for content planning. Use it as a calendar to insert topics.
Canva – yes, Canva again. It is the best for content creating in every format, my favorite are pdf documents. If you have been following me for a while, you probably notice I publish them a lot. All made with Canva. ??
9. TEXT CREATION
Now we are getting into the hacking zone. ?? Here are some amazing tools that will boost your productivity and creativity. Enjoy!
Thesaurus https://www.thesaurus.com/ – want to find synonyms for a word? This tool will do the magic.
Rhymes https://www.rhymezone.com/ – when you want to write a poem or just a rhyme for your post.
Headline https://headlines.sharethrough.com/ – need to check your headlines for a post or an article? Use this tool.
Convert case – https://convertcase.net/ – I use this tool all the time.. converting these: Sentence case, lower case, UPPER CASE, or Capitalized Case. ?
Emojis – https://emoji-m.firebaseapp.com/ ?– put some personality in your text with emojis. Yes, we are talking about LinkedIn, and yes, emojis are appropriate here.
Hemingway App – https://hemingwayapp.com/ – this tool helps your writing to be bold and clear.
Voice typing in google docs – do you like to talk and have challenges to put talking into words? Use voice typing in your google document to record yourself.
Click CTRL + SHIFT + S > select language (Slovenian included!) and start talking and writing at the same time!
Bold text generator – https://lingojam.com/BoldTextGenerator – you cannot bold text directly on LinkedIn, but you can use this tool to add bold words.
Fancy text generator – https://lingojam.com/FancyTextGenerator – feeling fancy? Use this tool to add creative words to your post. Just do not exaggerate with them.
Wordclouds – https://www.wordclouds.com/ – if you want to check your LinkedIn profile for the keywords, this tool will do magic. Look what my profile looks like (yes, I am a HUGE cat lover ??):
10. EXTENSIONS
Grammarly extension (link >> ) – grammar is important in every LinkedIn post, so make sure to avoid mistakes with this extension.
OneTab (link >> ) – use OneTab to convert all of your tabs into one list. When you need to access the tabs again, you just restore them individually or all at once. For a heavy tab user like me, this is golden!
LinkedIn hashtags (link >> ) – a tool that shows the count of followers of LinkedIn Hashtags to enhance your posts for better reach.
Eyedropper (link >> ) – This allows you to pick colors from web pages, color picker, and your personal color history. Awesome when you want to use your branded colors in Canva.
Auto Text Expander (link >> ) – to boost your productivity, use Auto Text Expander; it comes in handy for replies on LinkedIn direct messages or posting.
11. SHORTCUTS
Emoji shortcut – this shortcut works on LinkedIn, FB, email, PPT.. so useful!
For Windows users: Windows logo + period (dot)
For MacOS users: Ctrl + cmd + space

I am a BIG lover of lakes
Four years ago I created a project Moja jezera (eng. My lakes). The story is simple: to cycle to all Slovenian lakes. The website mojajezera.si is becoming a true online lexicon of all lakes in Slovenia, or as I call it, a ??????????????????????????. At the time of this writing, it has 1381 lakes.
The peak of the project, and my creativity is THE book. Last year my book ?????? ???????????????? ?????????? was published and I could not be happier about it. You see, I have been dreaming of becoming a book writer for almost 30 years.
