It all starts with a plan

It all starts with a plan

It all starts with a plan.

If there was one sentence I would recognize myself in, it would be this one.

I’m a big fan of planning. I plan my tasks and projects at work, I plan my travels, I plan my food blog content, I plan my running sessions, and most importantly, I plan all the things I want to achieve in my life. This brings us here today:

From my love of planning to …

It seems I have always loved planning.

Last weekend I was at my parents' house and got trapped into doing some cleanup into my old stuff there (to be fair, my mum was asking for it for a few years now, so it was about time I tackled it! Getting things done can still be hard sometimes ??)

The task was mainly to dig into my old school books and notes from my approx-15 years of studies from junior high school to university, and decide what to keep and what to throw out. (which made me directly think about Marie Kondo’s method, but this is a topic for another day…)

And in the middle of all this mess (which was actually quite well organized, I was kind of proud of myself), I found several planning sheets, from exam study plans to weekly schedules and even holiday plans (yes I even planned my vacations as teenager #timeoptimization, I might be a bit of a planning freak ??)

… exploring the universe of organization & productivity

The point is: I had quite a few years to test a lot of different planning methods and other organization tools.

I came from paper to-do lists to apps like Google Keep, Trello, and general productivity and project management tools like Jira, Monday, or Notion.

I discovered Kanban boards, Gantts, the Eisenhower Box, OKRs, the GTD methodology, and more, and put them into practice.

I had a few several fails, but also quite some wins, and most importantly I learned a lot.

Today, all these discoveries help me in my job and in my life, and even if I still have a lot to learn and to experiment with (after all, life is a work in progress), I thought sharing my experience could be useful to others.

What will we talk about here?

Well, we’ll talk about planning of course ?? but also all related topics like task management, time management, prioritization, and personal productivity.

Here, you will:

  • Explore best practices and methodologies
  • Learn from experts' insights & books
  • Discover tools & apps, and find the ones made for you (because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love planning & note-taking apps?)

?

It all starts with a plan.

So let’s go and don’t worry, I always have a plan. ??

?

And you, what is your plan?
