It all starts with a crazy idea...

A couple of years ago, looking for ways to #giveback, I got in touch with the Musical Youth Foundation, a charity working to bring music education to kids who otherwise wouldn't have access to it.

I thought I could use my passion for music and my rusty guitar skills to help the charity and give a few guitar lessons here and there. A good way to use the 56 hours per year Salesforce is giving me for volunteering activities!

Little did I know then that it would bring me onto a much more interesting journey...

It turned out that the charity wasn't looking for "volunteer guitar teachers" like me. Instead, I ended up joining their board, trying to bring Salesforce's V2MOM process to the charity and looking for ways to raise much-needed funds for a small charity like MYF!

Why not create a music festival to raise funds for the charity? Crazy right?

Chris Maher, MYF's founder and CEO had successfully run the well-loved Dublin City Soul Festival for 8 years in a row, attracting over 250,000 visitors and generating in the region of €8 million in economic activity. Unfortunately, the Soul Festival was a free festival and never raised enough money for the charity. The economic recession, increasing costs and little resources made it impossible for Chris to continue the festival and May 2014 sadly saw its last edition.

This is with the grand vision of reviving the Soul City festival, like a phoenix reborn from its ashes, that we assembled a team of music-enthusiast volunteers to tackle that new project.

This brings us to today...

On 26th/27th May 2018, we will be running our 1st Edition of Reveal Festival. 

Reveal Festival is non-for-profit festival designed to shine a spotlight on the wonderful wealth of musical talent on the island of Ireland and from around the world while raising funds for the Musical Youth Foundation.

Taking place in Dublin's Merrion Square Park, the festival promises to be an exciting weekend for music lovers, families and anyone looking for something a little bit different. 

All of the sudden, that crazy idea is not so crazy anymore.

We currently have 100+ submissions from artists around Ireland, have a killer website (built on the Salesforce Platform!) and just launched our ticket sale through Eventbrite.

We need about 3000 people over the weekend to help the charity run for 1 full year and cater for hundreds of kids throughout Ireland! This is a goal that we think is well within reach but we need some help:

We need you to buy your ticket, talk to your colleagues, share and like our Facebook page and help MYF provide every child on the Island of Ireland with access to a musical education and equal opportunity to have the truly life-changing experience that learning an instrument can provide.
