Hey there, happy Friday, hopefully this week has been treating you well and you've got some good weekend plans to look forward to.
This week I want to do something a little bit different and hopefully a bit more interactive.
I want you to think of someone in your team, not just anyone, but someone who maybe is the ‘go to’ person, the reliable one that you know is always going to put in 110% and not only 110% for themselves, but also for everyone else in the team too.
The person who sticks around late, doesn’t really take days off. One of those “glue” people that keeps everything together and acts as the glue that holds the team together when there’s just absolute chaos in the workplace.
By now you’ve probably already got a name in your head.
Now think about what your team, and more specifically your place of work would be like without that person. Chances are, it would have a negative impact on things.
You might be seeing where I’m going with this. Those ‘glue people’ that hold everything together are critical in your organization, they need to be recognized and appreciated.
If you believe they’re one of those people and that they’re critical to the operation, then your actions need to be aligned with that belief.
Don’t take those people for granted, to put it simply, they’re the unsung heroes of your office. They buy into the culture and the team so much that they do more than what’s expected of them.
People like that are the ones that you want to keep at all costs - so make them feel valued! Make them want to stay!
So give that some thought, maybe recognize some of the people that have been those unsung heroes in your team, and have a great weekend.
