Is that all there is?

I have been having a bit of a transformation lately. Its ok. It's the 6th one in my life. One for every decade. This one though is different. Its posing more questions and generating more excitement than ever before. It feels like I have almost worked out the meaning of life and its just on the edge of my fingertips. At the same time there are more questions than answers. At my age I should have more answers. I should just be accepting. Shouldn't I? I have seen off my best years, had enough experience that i can almost call, my perspective, my musings, wisdom.

Say yes and raise your hand. Just to check you haven't fallen asleep already. I need my audience to stay with me. I need to connect to ensure that there is enough in the opening paragraph to keep you wanting a bit more. Great, so back to the questions. It actually reminds me of a song by Johnny Nash a reggae pop star back in the 70's. 

"There are more questions than answers and the more I find out the less i know... pictures in my mind that will not show...

It resonated with me then, of course it did i was a teenager. When you expect me to be in my twilight years, I find myself, as if, I am at the dawn of my life. I guess my son had it right when I asked him how his GCSE in Maths had gone he replied "the questions were really easy but the answers were hard??"

The questions, i guess the important thing is that you never stop asking them. If you do, that's it. You have become accepting, cynical, tired, worn down. I love listening to young children, those clever dicks, who, everytime you answer a question they then ask you another question, until you realise you haven't got all the answers and you certainly hadn't asked those questions of yourself or if you had you hadn't sought the answers. What happens? when you dont have an answer, you come up with the completely inadequate, "because thats how it is, always has been, always will be".

So if you find yourself either tired of asking questions or answering them, get yourself into the nearest space or place. Get back in touch with that inquisitive child in you, get back that wonderment at every new discovery. Not only that life is a miracle, but everything is a miracle. Realign with the sun, moon and stars and then apply yourself as though you this is the best journey ever. Don't stress just marvel. To be able to ask the questions as though you were a child is a true gift. If you have lost that art strive to recover it.

Don't ever give up, on you, your friends and family, the wonderful people on this earth and our prospects for the future. Regardless of how gloomy and uncertain the world might seem. Great times are just around the corner.
