All-new Kona

Today, fleet management organisations and fleet managers were invited to attend the all-new Kona launch, at Hyatt Place in Essendon. I was happy to receive an invite to this event, due to being out of the industry for 5+ years, it was a great opportunity for me, to get reacquainted with the brand, and a number former colleagues.

Hyundai provided an insight into the company, it’s key milestones and what the future holds for the company, what was evident to me, is that Hyundai are focused on the future and only limited by their own imagination.

Whilst we are waiting for pricing to be released, I believe Hyundai have priced these vehicles to be great for company fleets. Starting around $30,000 mark (don’t quote me on this, I was looking at the competition in this segment)!!

There are two ICE (internal combustion engines) 1.6 and 2.0, 1.6 Hybrid and two electric vehicles, due to hit our shores in Australia July through to October. ?All will be available in the N-line styling, which was a real eye catcher.

The vehicle is bigger, taller and longer than it’s old version, with an impressive 407 litre boot space for those carrying product, fitting up to3 large suitcases and much more space when the seats are laid down.

A couple of other features which blew my mind -

Bluelink – this is an APP where you can communicate with the vehicle – noting, that you can start the vehicle and turn on the heater and heated seats (or cooling), though given the start to today, the heated seats were needed in Melbourne.

Smartsense – there are so many safety features on this vehicle and if you are any good at acronyms, here you go!!! FCA-JT, SCC, HRA, SVM, BVM, BCA, LFA and PAC-R – basically all safety braking features for all eventualities – T junction traffic, reversing out of a parking spot to name a couple.

I loved the N-line styling, this would be a great novated lease small SUV – you could even remove parts of the centre console so you can pop your handbag there!!
