Being Captain of Industry has its perks

I can tell you exactly what works

I’ve the best intentions and sage advice

Happy to provide interview prep twice

But this one is for my candidates that weren’t suited

And spent two hours sweating; suited and booted

Or those whose CV I sent into the ?ther

Summer has eviscerated my annual leave

I’m back now - if I missed you please believe

The cause is my ATS being a scribbled pad

It’s old school but our system drives me mad -

And as twilight descends, I punch the clock

And trudge to the car from office block

And reflect on the fact I’m just a recruiter

With phone and computer

Playing two ends against the middle

To make ends meet

And most of the time

It ends in defeat.
