This note accompanies: Part Two - Learn From The Best In The World - My personal interpretation of information written and produced by some of the finest minds in the world on the subject of personal self-development.
The following chapters are taken from a series of articles, written by the author, as have appeared in the It's So Simple! Information Report and Action Program.
Begins:
Back in the mid-90’s, this writer was privileged to spend a pleasant four hours in seminar with Peter J. Daniels... an Australian BILLIONAIRE with business interests in 127 countries of the world. Peter was in South Africa to investigate the establishment of a branch of his World Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. He gave of his free time to share his ideas on success with select South African audiences, from bankers and financiers to church groups.
Peter Daniels introduced himself as coming from a highly disadvantaged background. A broken home… quitting school at the age of 14… branded by his teacher as someone “who would never amount to anything”… functionally illiterate at the age of 26… a messenger boy… milk delivery vendor… a cleaner… a factory hand.., the young Peter Daniels had tried it all. On his way to becoming a Billionaire he told of going broke three times, before he got it right.
He identifies the day that changed his life forever, as the day in 1959 when he attended a Billy Graham Crusade and gave his life to Christ. He contends that the “...realization hit the young battler that if all men were equal before God, then no-one need look down on him as a no-hoper anymore. ‘I’m the son of a King!’ said Peter - a motto since printed on the back of his gold Rolls Royce.”
Within 5 minutes we were all held spellbound by his simple views on life. He began by imploring all South Africans to recognize the essential characteristics necessary to get South Africa back to being recognized as a growing power in the world. Each individual, he contended, needed to feel the Power of Certainty emanating from the true leaders in the country.
He cautioned that there was no place for cynics and pessimists - “God works through optimists,” he said.
The entire nation had to discover the Power of Unity in order to take on the major economic forces of the world.
It is essential, he said, that our people become imbued with the Power of Excitement which will give everybody hope in the future.
And... he called for an understanding of the Power of Information and how vital it was to understand that future economic giants will be those who encourage and contribute to the free flow of information in our Global Village.
He explained that Productivity - so essential to the growth of our country - is tied to Purity and Integrity of the individual.
He pointed out that in his experience it was always the minority who got things done, and it is these people our country needs to develop into quality leaders.
He warned that the majority is always wrong and cautioned against consensus politics that seemed to choose the easy, popular answer to our problems, even though it may not be in the best interests of our country.
Leadership training and awareness is the key to our future success. Leaders come from people who are aware of their Relative Wealth compared to others.
“God has chosen to place you in this part of the world rather than Rwanda, Bosnia, or Ethiopia. If you aren’t happy with what you’ve got, why not swop places with a Rwandan?”
Meaning... that true leaders are grateful for what they have, and work constructively for a better future.
The leader also has to feel equipped to personally be able to do something constructive as a service to others, whilst being willing to sacrifice something of personal value.
Which leads to Peter’s Definition of Success as - “The Willingness to Bear Pain”.
Leaders have to accept the responsibility of risk and failure - “You’ve got to take risks in life!”
Most people tend to take the easy route of blaming others and live the… “Life-lie of the neurotic” ...preferring not to accept the responsibility for their personal circumstances in life.
Most prefer to live in the past - “The past wasn’t so good....Believe me, I was there!” ...said Peter to roars of laughter.
Leaders continually ask themselves.... “Am I twice as smart as 10 years ago”.....if not, he exhorts.... “You’re going backwards!”
Life, he maintains, is like a Radio Station… unless you tune in with a pin-point focus, the message you receive is fuzzy at best, and has no meaning at worst.
Leaders are focused.
To those who complain about their disadvantages in life... he listed people who were blind, deaf, paraplegic, incarcerated, mentally deficient and worse… who still overcame their extraordinary difficulties to make major personal impact in the world...
“So tell me,” he said.. “What IS your problem?”
Leaving everyone under no illusion that success is merely an attitude of mind.
Peter J. Daniels’ 15 Key Success Attitudes
1. Gain Mastery Over Procrastination
DO IT NOW! (in his opinion, this is the greatest principle for success.)
2. Get Enthusiastic
Peter has a sign in his office which proclaims: “Either get enthusiastic in 10 seconds or get out!”
3. Develop Good Habits
4. Develop A Positive Mental Attitude.
Stay away from negative people.
5. Pay The Full Price For Success
...in time and commitment.
6. Learn To Speak On Your Feet
“You can’t change the world one-on-one, you can only do it from a platform.”
Peter is adamant that... “God will not give you a dream without giving you the ability to achieve that dream.”
The ability to speak to large groups of people is a skill that must be developed.
Abraham Lincoln once said, “I will study, I will prepare, my opportunity will come.”
7. Handle Your Emotions
If you’re feeling down, upset, aggressive or aggrieved, go out for a long walk. Take some positive action.
8. Learn To Handle Criticism.
Understand that critic ism has no power or authority accept that which we give it.
The more successful you become the more criticism you will attract from people who are envious or lacking in understanding of what you are doing.
9. Understand The Power Of Attraction.
Dress well. You do not get a second chance to make a first impression.
Peter mentioned that many Christians had disagreed with his point of view.
They argue that... “God only looks upon the heart.”
He pointed out that he agrees... “but God is the ONLY one who does!”
Meaning that the average human being unfortunately judges other human beings by their dress.
If you want to become a leader, start looking like a leader.
10. Persistence
Never give up on your dreams.
11. Worry
Peter shared a story told by his friend Norman Vincent Peale...
Norman had met a man on the streets of New York who complained about all the worrying problems he was faced with.
Norman told the man that he had just come from a place where ALL of the inhabitants had no worries at all and he was happy to share their secret with the man.
The man begged for the secret.
Norman told him he had just come from the cemetery..!
“The only people in the world with no worries are DEAD!” You see... problems are a sign of life.
He told the man that whenever he realises that he has no worries or problems he gets down on his knees and prays... “Lord, don’t you trust me any more......give me some problems!”
12. Take Decisions
You are what you are today because of the decisions you’ve taken in the past.
And... you will become what you will be in the future because of the decisions you take today.
Peter pointed out that successful people take decisions quickly and change them slowly.
The exact opposite of unsuccessful people, who take decisions slowly and change them quickly.
13. Save
A simple formula to see how happy you are with your current financial position is to Add Up your Assets, Deduct what you owe and “deduct another 20% because you are likely to be lying to yourself”, and divide this figure by your age.
This will show you how much you have accumulated for every year of your life.
Are you happy with the result?
Peter observed that he is often confronted by Christians who maintain that they are not interested in money.
His response is always... “Well, give it to me!”
He explains: “As Christians we should be driven to earn as much as we can , so that we can Give It Away, Give It Away, Give It Away.”
“You see, money can never be your god if you give it away.”
“Understand that God needs the Healthy to help the sickly, the Educated to help the uneducated, and the Wealthy to help the poor. Why should it not be you!”
He also gave the secret to feeling GOOD about money: Get Out Of Debt..!
14. Ask Questions
Be inquisitive about life and the principles of success. THINK!
15. The Power Of Choice
Peter regards this point as God’s Greatest Gift to Humanity.
We can choose to be in control of our own destinies or leave someone else to take control of us - “The Choice is yours, and yours alone!”
For this writer, Peter J. Daniels’ message is all the more clear for the outstanding example he sets as a role model that can be followed with enthusiasm.
So you want to be a BILLIONAIRE?
You can if you follow his lead, for “...none can teach you that which they have not done!”
This man went broke three times, was severely disadvantaged and is today a BILLIONAIRE by applying simple success principles in claiming his share of our abundant world.
If he can so can YOU..!

Points To Ponder
1. All men are equal before God.
2. I am the son of a King.
3. I am Wealthy compared to…
4. Am I twice as smart as 10 years ago?
5. I, alone, have the Power to choose my Destiny.
Action Program
1. Sit down with a blank sheet of paper and write down all the people in the world with whom you would not swop your life with right now.
Give clear to-the-point reasons why not, and say to yourself each time... “There but for the Grace of God go I” ...and note how you feel.
Then begin to analyse exactly what it is you have to be grateful for.
You will have just begun laying the most important foundation stone for generating enormous wealth - that of GRATITUDE.
2. Imagine that you have been given an audience of ONE hour’s duration with the Wisest Man In The World... And that he is prepared to answer 10 - and only 10 questions – that you put to him.
Sit down right now and prepare your list of questions.
Once you have completed your list make it your goal to find out the answers. Because someone, somewhere, knows the answer to each question.
“Seek and ye shall find!”
Ends.
