All "meetings" should be limited to standing. And MUST dissolve within 15 minutes. So, what defines a meeting? How is it different from a team (or mob, to paraphrase Joe Justice) discussing say, integrations?
A meeting is not a primary function of one's job. At least we certainly hope not! Yes, almost everyone in a business entity will participate from time to time in meetings. But for data gathering or knowledge transfer. Or celebrations of mileposts achieved.
Whereas a gathering of team members of undetermined length to solve the challenges for which they were hired is not a meeting but simply a part of the process.

P.P.S. Just to be clear, I do not endorse Agile (with a capital "A"). Dr. Eli Goldratt's Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a more robust approach. However, other methodologies and corresponding tools add great value in certain circumstances. Like Use Cases and Scrum's Retrospectives and StandUps. [stepping off my soapbox]
