It All Matters

A few years ago my family decided to start collecting loose change. Seven cents here, 22 cents there.?


That seemingly worthless change that you can't really do much with, we started throwing it in a Tupperware container.


We decided to finally cash it in and we were blown away with how much was in there. It was about $280 worth of change!?


You should have seen me struggling to carry the?container into Walmart, that thing was heavy.


Everyone is impressed with big numbers, but little things?add up too. Think about it this way.?


You probably wouldn't impress your friends?if you told them you lost 1 ounce of weight.?


But if you did that every day for a year you would lose over 22 pounds!


Any progress is a victory. It is a sign you are doing something right.?


If you can do one more squat than you could a month ago, run 10 seconds?when before you couldn't run at all, or if you "only" lost 2 pounds you are heading in the?right direction.?


Do. Not. Give. Up.


Because I have seen it time and time again with my clients. They will be slowly but surely losing weight and inches, and then one day it all clicks and it's like the weight and inches just start pouring off.?


To have long-term success you need to:

-put in consistent effort

-celebrate the small wins, as well as big wins

-look for non-scale victories (more energy, BP down, more flexible, better mood, etc...)

-have a sustainable plan (no more crash diets or exercising every day for a week, then quitting)

-have a compelling goal that will keep you moving forward when the hard times hit?


Keep doing the little things and celebrating the little things and it will lead to big changes in your life. It takes patience and trust, but it will happen.?
