All the little things
Sundays are my best days to reflect on life and purpose. Three hours ago, I started to think about my journey and circumstances over the past few years. I'm currently asking myself questions like, "How did you do that?", "Why did you continue?", "What makes you yearn?" In this article, I decided to share all the little things that make living worth it. This article demonstrates my current thoughts- and you can benefit from it.
The term "little things" is subject to perspectives. If you asked a Gorilla to define a little thing, it would probably mention Lion. A Lion would possibly say a Cat; a Cat, an Ant. Perspectives have shaped how we define things and translate experiences since the beginning of time.?
And "no two "little things" are the same"—if you look closer.
Little things are the most precious things in life that we mostly take for granted.
They give us reason to live, from taking a walk enjoying nature in all of its glory—to having someone to share our burdens with through heart-to-heart conversations. Patting a colleague on the back, shedding tears from loss, getting our first paycheck—our first job or debut as a professional in any capacity are little things we may never place so much value on.
The little things also give us a deeper meaning of self, like leaving your status and position to go undercover on a journey where you are barely recognized, asking random strangers for their most important life lessons from their lived experiences, playing with toddlers having fun with their toys. There are the little things like receiving or giving a random hug, having a good sleep, singing out loud in the bathroom—a call or text from someone acknowledging your work. These little things help point humans to purpose.
It is a terrible thing not to find beauty in the little things.
I know laughter is medicine, but have you ever laughed so hard that you shed tears or your cheeks begin to hurt? These are some of the little things that provide the opportunities for us to take ourselves less seriously and enjoy moments like counting the stars, trying to measure our own shadows at noontime, trying a new dance and new recipe. Such are the little things that make us eternally curious and lively.
They are the most genuine and most precious things in life. Little things like positive affirmations and assurances remind me of my dad; after a long day at work, he would take his chair outside, stare at the starts and say to himself, "Yunno, you did well today. Well-done."

All the little things are enablement for possibilities. They keep hope alive, and they make the heart yearn.
The little things are easily overlooked due to the seemingly busy life of the average person. But when missed, it creates powerful ripples, strong enough to trigger feelings of depression and a loss of hope.
I remembered one of the coaching sessions I had with Catherine Boyle during my program at Thunderbird ASU. I was tasked to write a letter to my future self. It wasn't easy, and it took two weeks to formulate my thoughts! When I wrote the last word on the letter, I felt a rush of endorphins through my veins, like I had just accomplished an impossible mission. The letter included all the little things that made me press on. It deepened my self worth and gave me the assurance that "it is possible."
If there's anything I have learned from this reflection, it is that "All the little things" are healers of hope.?
They provide supplements and ensure you never run out of hope. Be intentional about recognizing the little things that make the heart leap and maintain a spirit of gratitude. It compounds to a meaningful life.
Look around you. Pay attention to the little things saying to you; you're enough, keep going, you will do just fine.?
Lastly, nothing will be enough if you don't practice deep reflection and gratitude for the little things. Success is an endless journey. There's always more.?
