Is it all about the job title or the results?
I write this in hope to inspire the owner of the small business and even the booming empire...
To see the true value in your team and to work smarter not harder.
I may not (yet) have the CEO title that I have dreamed of... but I definitely appreciate just how much hard work goes into the role and i know its much more than a title...
I may not have the million £££'s turnover business (yet)
But I am a sales person....its in my blood...
So how come I havent made it yet???
Well...Life gets in the way that's why! To keep compassionate, I allow time to process my feelings, and to be mindful in my actions. This helps to build a deeper connection and long lasting relationship.
Because isn't selling about being present and in the moment? For me, its more about the relationship and what I can bring to the table rather than selling large quantities, at cheap costs and undercutting competition. For me it's about adding value to what you offer. And thus, receiving the right customer and the right price for your goods and services.
My style has always seen me succeed in my roles where services and products are matched to the right business. So much so, its become a skill of mine and a skill I protect deeply.
Whilst developing a vast knowledge of business skills, my experience in dealing with people has become quite extraordinary. Because I am present. And as corny as it sounds.... I care.
I've learnt the value of how sales and marketing go hand in hand, building and merging these together achieves the best results.
I enjoy supporting the business owner with their dream. And as a consultant I am often helping multiple businesses in one succession....Helping them to accomplish their goals is human nature to me.
I believe all the companies I have worked for over the years, will join me in saying, I did my best for them, I represented their brand well and matched their values as though it was my business. I have done so much business development that customers will continue to use the companies I connected them with... for many many years.
So, i guess its with this I write, and urge and remind business owners to:

Be selective about your sales people - ensuring they are passionate about what you do and who your customers are?
Have a creative marketing department that enjoys support from sales
Have a team that's mindful and that cares about the end goals as well as the small milestones
Be selective about your customers
Be selective about your service and products
Engage in wellbeing activities for you and your staff = to increase positivity in all your efforts. I firmly believe in energy and how good or bad energy is passed on....subconsciously...
Keep reminding yourself why you have your business; ensuring your values and brand is in line.
Dont give up - there is always a solution
Put yourself in the other persons shoes - even for a moment - because it isn't always about us
Laugh - I enjoy programmes like; the undercover boss, pets behaving badly and the Super Nanny..they always fascinates me! I believe these lessons can apply to many environments and arent we just all big kids at the end of the day. Our behaviour creates a cycle all around us.
Everyday is a learning day
mental health is a challenge for all - just as important as what we eat and exercise- we have a choice to either keep ourselves healthy or ignore ourselves.... (i know it may be hard to open pandoras box).. but we cant hide forever...
I may not have the CEO title, but I operate as a CEO in all I do. Because I matter to me and I care about the people I deal with.
If I could wave a magic wand in your business and change 3 things, what would these 3 things be? Id be keen to hear your views, challenges and goals - and will always help where I can. However that help looks like.
