All India Sustainable Development Council (AISDC) Partners with UNDRR MCR2030 as a Special Service Provider in India

The All India Sustainable Development Council (AISDC) is proud to collaborate with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) under the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) initiative as a Special Service Provider in India. This strategic partnership is aimed at enhancing urban resilience and sustainability across the country, ensuring that cities are better prepared to withstand and recover from disasters while fostering sustainable development.

Empowering Local Governments for a Resilient Future

MCR2030 is a global initiative designed to support cities in becoming more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable by 2030. The program aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11): "Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable."

Through this collaboration, AISDC will work closely with local governments to strengthen urban disaster preparedness and risk reduction strategies. The MCR2030 framework supports cities in their journey toward resilience by:

  • Assessing risks and vulnerabilities
  • Developing local disaster risk reduction (DRR) strategies
  • Building capacity and technical expertise
  • Enhancing climate resilience and sustainability
  • Engaging multi-stakeholder partnerships

Who Can Participate?

MCR2030 is exclusively open to local governments, including:

  • Cities
  • Municipalities
  • Towns and villages
  • Districts
  • Provinces and states
  • Other sub-national administrative units

By participating in MCR2030, local governments gain access to a global network of resilience-building expertise, receive technical support, and benefit from policy guidance to integrate disaster risk reduction into their governance frameworks.

Aligning with Global Frameworks

AISDC's efforts under MCR2030 contribute directly to multiple international sustainability and disaster risk reduction frameworks, including:

  • The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) – Enhancing disaster preparedness and reducing losses.
  • The Paris Agreement on Climate Change – Strengthening climate resilience in urban environments.
  • The New Urban Agenda – Promoting sustainable urbanization for equitable and resilient cities.

AISDC’s Role as a Special Service Provider

As a recognized Special Service Provider, AISDC will: ? Provide technical support and policy recommendations for urban resilience. ? Assist cities in risk assessments and disaster preparedness planning. ? Develop capacity-building programs and training workshops. ? Facilitate partnerships between local governments, businesses, and civil society organizations. ? Promote innovative solutions for sustainable urban development.

Through AISDC’s engagement with MCR2030, Indian cities will be better equipped to adapt to climate challenges, reduce disaster risks, and achieve long-term resilience.
