The All-In Summit: Where Future Shapers Collide

The All-In Summit: Where Future Shapers Collide

Some events just land on the calendar. But the All-In Summit? That’s circled, highlighted, and practically tattooed. It’s where the best in business, tech, and beyond show up — not just to talk, but to reshape what’s coming next.

For the uninitiated, All-In is like a masterclass in everything that keeps me up at night — business, investing, venture capital, AI, tech, longevity, politics — you name it. But here’s what makes it different: it’s not a one-note echo chamber. It’s refreshing as hell to watch the hosts disagree, evolve, and even change their minds on stage — and take us along for that ride.

That kind of flexible, ever-adapting thinking? It’s the same thread I’m pulling through Who Says? — the idea that no one’s got it all figured out, and that’s exactly the point. It’s about staying curious, keeping an open mind, and having the guts to shift your stance when the facts hit you in the face.

Let’s break it down.

Think Bigger, Move Faster

Elon Musk took the stage, and in typical Musk fashion, didn’t just paint a picture of the future — he dropped us right into it. AI? It’s going to flip our world, and fast. “The good future of AI is an age of abundance,” he said. But then, came the gut punch: “How do we find meaning when AI does everything better than us?” That question didn’t just linger — it stuck with me. Musk didn’t sugarcoat it — there’s a 20% chance this goes really wrong. That’s some existential risk to chew on.

Then, Peter Thiel jumped in with his contrarian energy, reminding us that playing it safe is how you get left behind. “Progress requires risk.” In his world, business and politics are inseparable, and if we’re not embracing risk in both, we’re setting ourselves up for failure. Thiel’s always that guy who makes you rethink your comfort zone. Are we playing it too safe? Are we thinking big enough?

Disruption Done Right

Travis Kalanick didn’t just talk about innovation — he’s living it again with Cloud Kitchens, basically Uber for your dinner. “If we can make kitchens as efficient as Uber cars, we’ll change food forever,” he said. And it’s not just about food delivery — it’s about blowing up old models and creating something faster, smarter, and more efficient. This approach goes beyond tech — it’s a blueprint for rethinking any industry. Where are your inefficiencies, and how are you crushing them?

Democratizing AI & the Power of Values

Sergey Brin’s keynote was refreshingly honest. He didn’t pretend to have all the answers, which was a lesson in itself. His focus? Making AI accessible to everyone. “We’re not trying to hoard AI. We’re letting the world play with it.”That’s a huge shift in how we think about tech — democratizing AI instead of gatekeeping it. It hit me that this is the same mindset we’re applying at SHIFT with Latch. We’re automating change and handing the tools to companies, so they can keep up and thrive in an AI-powered world.

Then, Marc Benioff took it to another level with his values-driven leadership. “AI will make businesses more efficient, but trust will make them sustainable.”That hit home for me. We’re not just talking about efficiency — we’re talking about building businesses with purpose. Benioff’s message reminded me why trust and values are more important than ever, especially in a tech-driven future.

Power Politics Meets Global Optimism

One of the most intense moments? John Mearsheimer and Jeffrey Sachs going toe-to-toe on stage. Mearsheimer, the realist, dropped this bomb: “Great power politics is back with a vengeance.” Sachs countered with his optimistic view: “A little bit of prudence could save the whole planet.” Watching them clash wasn’t just an academic exercise — it was a stark reminder of the stakes we’re playing for on the world stage. It took me back to growing up in Baltimore, where you learn fast that sometimes the real game is happening behind the scenes, and not everyone’s playing fair.

A New Era for Media

Megyn Kelly came in swinging with her unapologetic stance on cancel culture and independent media. “Cancel culture freed me to tell the truth,” she said. And it’s true — she’s broken away from the corporate machine to create something raw, real, and, most importantly, unfiltered. It’s not just about media — it’s about carving out a path that’s true to who you are. Kelly is proving that when you speak your truth, your audience will follow, and that’s something every leader should take note of.

Leaders of Tomorrow

Astronaut Woody Hoburg took it to a whole new level — literally. His selfie from space was cool, but what really blew my mind was the way aerospace innovations are about to completely shift our relationship with the skies. Then, Jake Loosararian from Gekko Robotics brought it down to Earth (but barely), showing us how his robots are reshaping industries by handling the most dangerous jobs.

And finally, Tekedra Mawakana from Waymo? Wow. She’s at the forefront of autonomous driving, but it’s not just about tech — it’s about transforming how cities and economies work. Her vision made me realize how much transportation is going to change how we live, work, and move. The future is speeding toward us, and people like her are in the driver’s seat.

The Bottom Line

The All-In Summit isn’t just an event — it’s where the future gets built. From democratizing AI to rethinking risk and redefining leadership through trust, this is where the game gets rewritten. Every speaker — whether it was Musk, Thiel, Brin, Benioff, or Kalanick — shared one unifying message: The future belongs to those who aren’t afraid to adapt, challenge, and innovate.

A big thank you to the besties, Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks & David Friedberg for having the courage to have these conversations and hold space for the rest of us to do the same.

LFG!!!

Great to see you at the conference and your recap is spot on, nice job!
