'All I Know So Far'

?There are no cards for some of life’s greatest challenges. Doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.
?Pay real attention to who and what brings you joy. There is no prescription for joy/happiness, and it not always found in the places we go searching for it. It is found when we stay open.?
?Exercise your body, your mind and your spirit. I am a strong advocate of physical activity as it really is my lifeline, it feeds my body, mind and spirit in one, but the real gift is in Knowing yourself and what makes you feel good on the inside. ?
?It is not ‘does my life look good’ it is ‘does my life feel good’
?? Pay attention to the gifts that have been given to you. No matter how big or small, every gift is a blessing, but you must be open to see them, and be willing to receive them.?
?If life has took the wind from your sails, you will be tempted to rest at shore. Push through and sail again
??Accountability, honour, integrity, honesty, trust starts with you. You are not responsible for the actions of others; you are responsible for you, and they are responsible for them.
??It is true, there is no hierarchy to trauma, but in your worst moments of life, if you have a home, support, people around you, your health, choices, then you still have plenty to be grateful for.?
?Humility is one of life's greatest gifts, laughter is like fuel for the heart and medicine for the soul.
? Never get so busy teaching, you forget to learn.
Stay curious and connect with people who bring you joy. My greatest female inspirations are Liz Gilbert, Glennon and Amanda Doyle, Abby Wambach, Cheryl Strayed, Oprah Winfrey, too many to mention. I also find everyday inspiration in the people around me, the people in my physical life and my wonderful connections on linked in
??Do not carry the shame of other people’s choices/actions, no matter how closely linked they are to you.?
?Let people see you. I spent many years thinking ‘what if they knew’ guess what some people do parts of my story (it's not that interesting btw, everyone has a story) and it has changed nothing. If anything, it has deepened the connection. I thought I was hiding the pain, when all along I was hiding the strength.??
?Peace and safety are the perfect antidote to adversity, but don’t get too comfy there. You were born to live?

?Let go of the labels – they don’t own you; you own you
??Worry and fear will if you allow it, create the most traumatic movie of your life. It will replay your worst moments and create even more scenes that may or may not ever happen.
?Every new unexpected battle can feel the worst battle yet, but what if it isn’t, what if you waste all that time energy lost/stuck in that moment, only to look back and see the joy that still existed, but you failed to notice it.??
?Not every battle in life can reframed, made sense of. Sometimes life happens and there is no sense to be made of it, but there is always a lesson, and lessons are generally hard, so you may as well embrace the learning.?
?One of life's greatest challenges is accepting that not all relationships will look or turn out exactly as we imagined them to be.
?? We cannot will, love, pray, or hope people into a better life, unless they are ready to step into a better life.
?? Life will try keep you in your lane (or you will), remember you are driving, and you can switch lanes at any point
? You cannot avoid feelings by simply ignoring them, what we don’t express we oppress. When the feelings come, ask yourself, what is anger, hurt, fear, joy trying to teach me? (Sure, I heard Brene Brown speak of this)
?I finished writing a story I had been working on for many years. 32,158 words, and finally I had my 'The End' The truth is if you are alive and breathing there is no end, just another chapter to write, and no matter how hard the last one was, living is a gift, so the fact you have another chapter to write (and hopefully many more) that is a gift.
?Everything we do as parents, as people we do with the greatest intentions, and in the hope that what we do will hopefully improve the lives of others.
My greatest disappointment came when I realised, we are only ever the ‘captain of our own soul’ Just like running a 5k every day will only directly improve your fitness, reading, healing, listening will only directly heal your soul. The ripple will still occur, and many lives will be improved/enhanced by your love, compassion, kindness, but only those who are open and ready, ready to learn and ready to walk a path of a more peaceful and loving life.?
'Eyes on you' nothing we do for the greater good is ever in vain, and may we never stop trying to make this world a better place.
?And if all else fails: Find the pause button and breathe ?? One day at a time ??

2 个月Great article and the 32158 words, After reading these lines "The truth is if you are alive and breathing there is no end, just another chapter to write" I was thinking am I really fully alive and breathing or just passing these, 1440 min,86,400 sec finding ideal path. For me THE TRUTH is living this moment as a blessing respecting it fully. Key is 'Keep it Simple' ??????

2 个月So much good stuff in this article, Michelle!?? Life has definitely been my greatest teacher and always will be. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to expect the unexpected and to move with it, rather than against it.??
