Not all hero's have superpowers.
This week we are dressing up as our favourite hero's as we work to raise awareness and some much needed funds for congenital heart disease (CHD). Friday June 18, is the day to 'Be a hero for heartkids' and we are looking to raise $5000 for the cause that is so close to my own heart, and the team at Nextgen.
THE STORY. My own daughter Giorgia (Gigi) was born with a ventricular septal defect (VSD), a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart. Without the amazing work of the Royal Children’s Hospital here in Melbourne Gigi wouldn’t have been with us as the healthy little girl she is today. Thankfully for Gigi, she needed only one operation to save her life, but for many other parents, their story is not so straight forward with many having no option to save their children.
OUR PLEDGE. For the month of June we are donating a percentage of all AV sales to HeartKids and hoping to make a difference for those families that are now in need of the services available to get them through a tough time.
We are looking to make our meetings and day to day activities a little more colourful as we work to raise funds, donating a percentage of our June sales to the cause. Having a little fun for a good cause is the least we can do for those that affected by this terrible disease and will not get the chance to join us.
HEARTKIDS. HeartKids is a critical service for these families, being the only national charity to support the cause. Money raised from Hero for HeartKids will go towards supporting services and programs for families nationwide.
HOW DO I HELP? Just a little can go along way; visit the Heartkids page for more information and to donate to directly or connect with me now to arrange a chat on June 18 and let your June AV requirements and bookings count toward our final tally! We aim to raise $5000 to support the kids so get involved and show your support to a cause that means so much to myself and the Nexgen team.
