All Gravy will revolutionise the hospitality industry with EUR3.2 million investment
Employee turnover is the #1 problem in hospitality & retail: there are more jobs than people who want to work in them, and the problem is only worsening due to the recent pandemic and rising cost of living.?
90 million people in Europe alone are paid an hourly wage, and their experience at work is underprioritised, or in some cases, completely neglected.?
To fix the problem, hospitality businesses need an easy way to reduce staff turnover and attract new employees, something which Copenhagen’s latest start-up, All Gravy , is addressing.?
The team behind the solution is building the best toolkit possible for HR and Operations teams to fix these problems by helping them understand, motivate and retain staff.?
- The All Gravy people operating system works like a workforce optimisation tool. It provides a mix of qualitative and quantitative insights, allowing the HR or ops team to make strategic decisions rather than just putting out fires, states CEO Jonatan Rasmussen?
- We believe that hourly paid workers have more options than ever to choose where they work. Restaurants and shops urgently need to retain employees for longer and they need to understand their employees better. Our customers tell us that what’s in the best interest of employees is in the best interest of the employer – everyone can win.?
All Gravy’s solution includes an integrated financial wellness app which helps increase employee motivation, flexibility and retention. It helps hourly paid employees understand their earnings, plan their savings and even get paid as soon as the shift ends, free of charge. This motivates them to take more shifts and stay with their employer. The tool kit also includes a ‘shift marketplace’ to help managers fill vacant shifts across multiple locations and to give employees greater choice.?
The startup has attracted the attention of some of Denmark’s largest hospitality companies, such as?Frankies, Letz Sushi and McDonald’s, who has already signed over 150 restaurants up as customers. Current users of the solution are already reporting 20% more shifts taken per employee, 15% increased retention and an increased ability to attract talent with instant access to wages earned.?
A recent EUR 3.2 million seed round shows that investors across the board also see promise in the solution. The investment round was led by Moonfire , Founders , Upfin and The Nordic Web Ventures, as well as a group of angels including Bradley Horowitz (Global VP Product at Google) and Phil Chambers (former CEO at Peakon).??
The funding will be used to accelerate the growth of the company; expanding both the team and employee focused app, as well as funding the app’s launch into the UK. Meanwhile, the startup will also be investing in a suite of tools on the Employer side - with insights allowing employers to?see the hard facts about hiring, onboarding, retention and turnover within an organisation.?
