All Good Things Must End
Today is my last day at Greylock and it’s been an amazing run. I accepted my position on June 3 ,2011, the day before I got married. 7 years, two wonderful children and few grey hairs later, I still enjoy coming to work everyday.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a phenomenal team to support dozens of companies. We’ve worked across engineering, product, design, sales, growth…even landed a British nuclear engineer. We’ve worked alongside great entrepreneurs building innovative companies. One of my favorite parts of the job has been finding and developing recruiters and recruiting leaders across the portfolio. The is no better collection of recruiting talent in the world.
We’ve put a lot of butts in seats over the years, but more than that, we’ve helped companies increase their value, extended the Greylock network and even contributed to our core business of investing. We have identified interesting investment opportunities and helped incubate new companies.
Reflecting back there are many people who have shaped and influenced me over the years. The hardworking people of our portfolio companies who I had the privilege of helping to support these past 7 years. The Investing Partners at Greylock who helped me understand words like CAC, Distribution, LTV, but more importantly helped me recognize what great companies look like. Our Marketing and BD teams have been a joy to work. Our EA teams that works tirelessly to make us successful. I’ve learning so much from my team members over the years: Mel, Julie, Joe, Schmocker, Tara, Sunita, Jonathan, Chris, Brianna, Camille, Street King, Dwane…you all have a special place in my heart.
I am incredibly proud of the core talent team at Greylock — we have built and scaled innovative programs in university recruiting, community building, and core talent recruiting. I believe the mark of a great culture and team is when they can continue to thrive long after the founding members move on. I am confident that is the case with the core talent team at Greylock, and look forward to watching their continued success as they work with Jeff Markowitz. I am grateful to my partners for their support, and I am incredibly excited by what’s next.
