All-girls education encourages “brave and fearless learners” says Badminton’s new Head

Jessica Miles , the "recently arrived Head" at Badminton School says that an all-girls education is "something that I am very passionate about" in this interview filmed at the end of term.

She explains that “one of the wonderful things” about the environment for a “single-sex education for girls is that they can be really brave and fearless learners”.

The reason for this she says is that the girls “feel very comfortable, ironically, stepping out of their comfort zone”.

Commenting on her new role she adds “I am honoured and delighted to be heading up this phenomenal girls' school in #Bristol”.

“The whole family join the TASIS England community” says Bryan Nixon, Head of School in this video

Increase in international families joining as day students

More parents are relocating to the UK and seeking day places for their children, according to a leading independent school in Surrey.

“We have seen a significant increase in families moving into our region with their daughters and sons joining as day students,” explains Sarah Travis , Director of Student Recruitment & Admissions at TASIS The American School in England England.

“The most common countries they are from are Nigeria and Ghana, South Africa, Turkey, and Russia”.

“Families are attracted to the school because of its international community of almost 70 nationalities, and our proximity to London and #Heathrow” she says.

“Another reason,” she adds, is that “we are one of just a few schools that is able to issue a ‘a Parent of a Child Student visa’ which allows one parent to join their child in the UK up until they turn 12 years”.

For a further explanation of this visa route go to https://www.gov.uk/parent-of-a- child-at-school-visa, speak to an immigration advisor, and contact Sarah at [email protected]
