Dear BAME Global Community - Mr Johnson, Mr Trump & Mr Tedros Adhanom

Open Letter- Calling for international Review and immediate adoption of Global Best Practice for BAME Front-line & essential workers AND Treatment of BAME Covid Patients.

There needs to be an Emergency Meeting for legal clarification to protect BAME essential Front-Line Workers AND Global Best Practice Guidance for testing and treatment BAME Covid19 patents. I know cancer patients and those with preexisting conditions are more at risk. We also hear that we are in it together but there is a disproportionate number of fatalities and risk that immediately needs to be addressed. I, like everyone appreciate and respect the selfless sacrifice of Front-line workers. However the decisions by thousands to go to the front-line, even for some to come out of retirement was without full knowledge of the risk of double the risk of serious harm or death AND lack of Personal Protective Equipment.

I feel gutted as a Black woman loosing community leaders, Family and Sisters, LEGENDS! As Lawyer my legal mind sees failings, MISREPRESENTATIONS, breaches of Human Rights and DISCRIMINATION. BAMEs are dying at over double the rate of other ethnic groups AND NOT due to underlying conditions or social economic issues as was initially thought.

It is such striking statistical distinction and it has been repeated globally. The cause of this heightened and Aggravated number of BAME fatalities appears or at least suggests genetic and environmentally based reasons. The lack of and lies over PPE obviously has not helped. Blatant failure to gather statistics in some regions is damming. Black and Asians are accounting for more than 64 % of front-line workers deaths if not more!

The fact leaders are continuing to ignore best practice and World Health Organisation guidance and examples of good practice in containing the spread but instead have prioritised promoting economic activity shows they do not value human life generally and further are being reckless with the lives of BAMEs. Those dying now will not pay back the loans or maximise the grants in but rather posthumously add to the holes of the crippled economies of the future.

Governments that have acted late in response to the spread are distracting their minds of the public with economic stimuli rather that focus achieving minimum Rate of Infection (ROI) and securing Test and Trace. Also as inflamatory syndrome appears to have killed 3 children what efforts are in place as you encourage children to return to school yet university students stay at home. The Governments also attempt to push your focus on grand gestures and clapping rather that treatment or how they will manage the clear risks of second waves and isolating hot spots. I am not a Medical Doctor but even i know that apart from Remdesivir that is not being shared to patients as needed, Erythromycin Cefalexin treat chest infections and other proven medicines can and should be used directly or combination if resistant to Covid19 earlier. Also Nebulizers rather that invasive ventilators used sooner especially for BAMEs. Instead you are telling patients to stay home till it is in fact too late so as not to overwhelm. Even worse you are sentencing the elderly in in care homes to death. You initially forgot or ignored them, dumbed down the risk and in some cases threatened to cut finance to Care providers if they refused Covid19 patients.

As the risk of death to BAME individuals is not just higher but more than double that of Caucasian and north Asian counter parts, they need rather must have additional protection. Governments have an obligation to meet their international commitments to prevent discrimination. UK ASKING NHS TRUSTS to evaluate risk and promising to look into BAME deaths it is not enough. In the USA and Brazil it is even worse and it seems to be open season on BAMEs as a blind eyes are turned as the virus openly disseminates and decimates some states. As the risk is stark and so damming. It is obvious by the time Governments finish looking into it there will be need for inquiries Chaired by hand selected friends with a few reps from under funded slow acting NGOs, and paper with results of various studies, but by that time it will just be too late. How many more would have died.? How many need to die? Action is needed now.

BAME workers at higher risk than others and are dying right NOW. Increased numbers came out of retirement to into roles without sufficient protection placed at the front-line to die. I respect the professional oaths that Medical practitioners take, sacrifices that carers, other essential and front-line workers make, but the decision to place BAMEs on Covid 19 wards or face to face treatment with Covid 19 patients needs immediate review and international best practices implemented as these workers have a right to have the disproportionate risk redressed, a fair fight and chance at life.

We have not seen the full effect of Covid19 in the African continent and the rush to create a vaccine has been splintered and funding was WITHDRAWN some of those who were making progress. It is unclear why it was withdrawn and why nations are not working together. But it was clear that despite the prevalence in other countries there were suggestions tests of potential Covid19 vaccines rather exploitation and experiments on humans are carried out in Africa. It is said that in Senegal and Congo this experimentation is said , sadly to have started. The lives of Africans so devalued they are at the Front-line and bottom line again without the batting of an eyelid.

We have just finished Windrush and despite Black MPs knowing about the unfairness in the immigrant systems for years they were complacent and some may say complicit. Sadly MPs of BAME divided the issue and creating Home Office round tables and groups of noise left wing makers and grant hunters with little substance and effect. West Indian MPs segregated Windrush issues African MPs were mostly unresponsive to the point that till today thousands many Africans and Asian do not realise Windrush policies and compensation scheme applies to them. As a result divide and conquer proves a winner yet again. We have just finished commemorating the 2 World War and the days when Soldiers Black and Brown Soldiers were consciously sent to the front-lines of Wars with less Armour. Here Black and Brown medical professionals, Front-line and essential workers are being sent to the front of the Covid19 war with underlying knowledge and proof that there is a bullet aimed at their hearts and heads, there is more than double the risk of death.

Black and Asian People have Equally rights to life and the proven disproportionate fatality rate needs to be addressed. There is qualified evidence for a review. In fact things are so unreasonable and arguably Wreckless there is Urgent Need For JUDICIAL REVIEW invoking international protections and injunction.
