All Dogs Have Superpowers
Anyone who owns a dog understands the true happiness and companionship they bring to our lives. Every day, dogs act as our source of comfort, counteract loneliness, help keep us fit and active and even support those who have mental and physical illnesses.
What many people don’t know is that there are thousands of working dogs around the world that contribute to society in ways well beyond companionship. There are dogs that descend from helicopters to find people buried under avalanches, dogs that track down poachers to protect endangered species and water-rescue dogs that save people from drowning.
There are also search and rescue dogs who risk their lives going out with our first responders to save people after horrific disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes. In fact, I recently learned that the dogs from Florida Task Force 1 went to Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake and were able to find and save 11 people, thanks to their amazing abilities and the relationship between dog and handler.
Hearing stories about these real super heroes makes me extremely proud to share that Mars Petcare announced today our global sponsorship of Superpower Dogs?, an epic 3D live-action family adventure for IMAX? theatres that tells the true stories of life-saving dogs and their extraordinary abilities.
I can’t imagine a more perfect fit for a partnership, as this film so wonderfully aligns with our Mars Petcare purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS?. We put pets at the center of everything we do, and the film’s creators, writer/director, Daniel Ferguson, and producers, Taran Davies and George Duffield, do the same. Our entire purpose is to celebrate the positive impact that pets have on our lives and create a better world for them, because they make a better world for us. Superpower Dogs? does just that.
This announcement comes at an especially exciting time for me, as my family just adopted a gorgeous 10-month old golden retriever named Eddie. While Eddie and my Labrador, Twixie, might not be trained to save lives, to me, their superpower is their amazing ability to bring my family together, help us relax and create joy like nothing else can.
I can’t wait for people across the world to see on the big screen that all dogs have superpowers – whether they’re saving a life or giving a loving tail wag after a long day. I hope you’ll follow our journey to the film’s premiere on March 15, 2019 and learn more about these incredible canine heroes at SuperpowerDogs.com, or follow #SuperpowerDogs on social media.
