It is all about the data operations

In the past several months LLMs and AI driven engagement have taken up a lot of limelight. Many organizations have jumped on the bandwagon with the express belief that there is going to be quick wins and major dollars to be saved or made.
As with all AI, outcomes will depend on the amount of data that is available within easy reach for training and use and the quality of data including the procedures and their documentation that will drive the journey. Organizations that have centralized data, policies and procedures with focus on rich and complete data ecosystems enabled with easy federation will rapidly progress towards unlocking value aligned both to their business process and customers.
For all others the level of friction will be significant as good data takes times to build and furthermore interactions of such data only become visible after a reasonable time horizon. Organizations might want to take short cuts through consultants and products but their effectiveness will be limited as both the operational engine needed to facilitate the deployment of the insights and interactions and know how of ones own customer base and their preferences cannot be suddenly discovered without robust and reasonably complete internal data.
And while the hype cycle goes through for LLMs with its natural flow what will differentiate those who can really succeed vs the wannabe's is the data ecosystem and its health within ones own organization.

1 年Absolutely spot on Ramnath Mahale. This is yet another classic example of an 'evolutionary challenge' in the digital transformation of Business Ecosystems. With the excessive focus on all things AI, it is imperative for Technology and Business leaders to be extremely cognizant of the ground realities and set clear priorities while charting their journey to adoption and leverage of these advancements.
100%. While companies are standing up data and analytics center of excellence to monetize data, I agree that higher attention is required to data governance and data health monitoring.
