It Will All Come To An End

It Will All Come To An End

One day while walking through the wilderness a young man stumbled upon a vicious tiger. He ran for his life but soon came to the edge of a high cliff. Desperate to save himself, he climbed down a vine and hung over the steep precipice. It would be a fatal fall. The tiger stood in wait.

As he hung there, two mice appeared from a hole in the cliff and began gnawing on the vine.

This was the end, for sure. The young man knew his fate. He knew he would die.

Suddenly, he noticed on the vine a plump wild strawberry. He plucked it and popped it in his mouth. It was incredibly delicious! He smiled.

The vine snapped. The young man fell to his death.

The end.

Sometimes, in life, there is no way out of the situation. You are cornered from all sides. Right or wrong, you are done for, at that moment. What's the signature you will leave on your departure, final goodbye, or the verdict that is impending upon you? Fear? Blame? Curses? Regret. Or would you cherish something beautiful about the situation, for your sake, perhaps the ripe strawberry, and end the matter on that?

The company was cutting costs. They had made too steep a loss to sustain its talent. They were let go, with the next job not in sight, with the next month’s EMI on a sure shot default. What should you do? Sure, it's not fair. But the disclaimer with life is in bold and in your face, it is not fair! So, what do you do??

I know a person who loved his job so much, he helped the company hire new talent, cheaper. He stayed back and helped with processes he had mastered. He didn’t get a job for the next two months, but he collected a stack of genuine recommendations that landed him in a mighty higher position in a far more prestigious company.

He was going down anyway. But he did so with the loudest bang, the mountains resonated with his presence.

How would you interpret this story? Inspire me.

Committed to your success,

After the shock, it’s courage that should follow not the blame, that could be another interpretation and yes all stories can have a happy ending.

I gave the strawberries I picked to the rats. Keep the time as long as possible. At some point there may be a way out.

I have retired from my company, on the last day of work a colleague who is in a leadership role told me "I am here because you inspired and helped me be who I am." What could be more motivating than someone being inspired and someone you helped and never knew it made a difference to them!

This is so awesome Priya Kumar We all face such situations in our life at both fronts - personal and professional. We should always look at the positive side, moments that made us happy, empowered and acknowledged. Things can be given a good closure for our own sake for our peace and future growth. Thanks!
