To All Colleagues: Reflecting On The Last Year
Dear colleagues,
A year ago today, George Floyd was murdered. His tragic death, and other racist acts, sent shockwaves throughout America and around the world and led us as a bank to listen, learn and focus on the experiences of our Black colleagues in America and within our company.
While our seven actions in seven months were completed ahead of schedule, this was only the start and the work continues. From community support, to talent development and mentorship to create a more diverse talent pipeline, as well as a more honest and open culture, we are moving in the right direction.
As a sign of our commitment to our D&I journey, in June we will publish our annual submission to the US Equal Employment Opportunities Commission that will disclose our regional diversity statistics. Shortly after, we will onboard our 2021 internship class that is significantly more diverse, being 45% women and 15% Black.
Given the challenges in this country and around the world, we have a duty to stand together with all our colleagues and those in our communities that face racism and discrimination in any form. I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of our journey thus far in building a more diverse and inclusive organization and for your support on the road ahead.
