Are you running or starting up a gym/fitness business?


I teamed up with ChatGPT and asked it some of the questions that gym owners struggle with on a regular basis.?(UPDATE - Also added the ChatGPT answers on personal motivation on how to stay with a fitness routine/plan)

To be honest these answers are very similar to what I would say and recommend when talking to our current and new clients/partners.?

So check it out and save the article, it is actually a great resource and checklist to revisit ahead of each year to make sure one is up to date on the points. It is probably similar to what any business coach in the fitness industry will challenge you on as well.

AI answer to the biggest question in fitness - How to stay motivated!?

I agree with most of the points. One I think is a bit ambiguous is the first one regarding goals. I agree that goals are important but too much focus on short term goals may actually decrease the chance of success. If you are not great at constantly setting new goals, chances are that you may become complacent and de-motivated after achieving the first goals you set. And "reward" yourself too much. For me the best way to stay hungry is to focus on the process and continuous progress. Long term vision of being strong, healthy and being able to wrestle with my kids and hold my own with the young athletes in my martial arts training. So I think that this part should come first, that main objective may then be broken down into part goals. Also building the foundation with mental training such as mindfulness and meditation. Doing those things will bring focus, better sleep and resilience that adds to motivation for me at least.

Great article David! I think the good question to ask is. how can we recruit the people that dont workout at all. Shall we compete about those who already workout? I think: Of course! But lets find out a way to not. ??

I also added my personal view on the last question since I think it is the most important one actually. Do you agree?

Nice work David Hult! You can't argue with the total knowledge of the Internet... Sure, you miss some nuances, but overall I agree it was very relevant answers. Check those boxes and you are on your way having a profitable gym. One thing I missed in the AI answers was the importance of having a unique offer compared to your local competitors. Too many gyms in my opinion struggles in finding their own identity and how to differ from other local gyms. Otherwise, truly great AI work! ??
