All air filters are not the same

Air Filters-selecting the propoer one for the job is critical. There a many different type of air filters available from the low merv to Bag, Box, Carbo,,Hepa, Polymer, and smart filters.

When selecting the proper air filter for the job, you need to be aware of the following:

1. Blower motor cfm and horse power-if you have a filter the air can not pass through you will have a lack of the air required to cool the cooling air from the return as well as not being able to take away the heat and eventually causing Heat Exchanger issues.
2. Intended use- The average of can use a Merv 14, However pharma, labs, clean rooms, electrical, surgical and many more require special filters designed for that operation.

3 No air gaps. An air gap is the space left over from the end of the filter row and any open space to the filter section door. Air will bypass the filters-not being cleaned.

4 Space. I have seen jobs were you did not have enough room to remove or replace the correct filter. In most cases the filter will have to be bent or smaller filters used, which can leave gaps

5-Evaluate the true needs, if you have a clean office then you may only require two changes Vs a printing facility that require 12.
