The moon really is an amazing thing, isn’t it? That big orb shining so brightly in the night sky, constantly changing in shape and colour depending on the season or even the day you look at it. Despite our advancements in space exploration, the moon remains a source of intrigue, shrouded in mystery regarding its behaviours and the secrets it holds.

Interestingly, the moon's impact extends beyond the cosmic realm, exerting a tangible influence on Earth and its inhabitants. Yes, you read that correctly – the moon's forces reach you not only as an individual but also as a business owner. Let's delve into the fascinating ways in which the moon plays a role in shaping both personal experiences and entrepreneurial endeavours.

Since humanity first gained consciousness we have relied on the moon, using it to track time and eventually forming the basis of our modern month. It’s formed the basis of many horror stories, werewolves anyone? ???and even been the basis of new words (lunatic, measure and crescent for example). We first thought it was a god, a celestial body sent to look over us and guide us through darkness. Over the centuries science has helped us understand the moon a little better, but there is still a huge amount of mystery to it.

We also have a much closer relationship with the moon than we think. It’s widely believed that the moon affects our behaviour, mood, sleeping patterns and mental state - it can even make us sick. Anyone who works with children or animals will tell you that they go wild around the time of the full moon!

It’s not really a surprise. One of the main facts we know about the moon is that it controls the ocean tides. The position of the moon at any one time determines where the water on the planet will be, and whether the tide is high or low. As human beings are 70% water, is it any surprise that the moon has some form of influence over us too?

The Lunar Influence On Your Business

As you can probably tell by now, I’m a big believer in the magic of the moon. That belief flows through my business life too, and I optimise my own business practices around the phases of the moon. I use the opportunities to set new goals each month and follow them through with the flow of energy, before resting, reviewing and making changes.?

This goes for how I organise my time too. I have a ‘moon-ology’ plug-in for my digital diary, which allows me to optimise my month around the moon phases. I always try to launch my client’s new websites on a new moon to bring good luck and abundance to them, and I often take a day or two off for self-care and recharge during the waning gibbous moon.

This is the perfect time to make plans for new projects or set out on new adventures. Set clear intentions and business goals for the upcoming month. Consider holding a team meeting to align everyone with the vision and tasks ahead.

?? Waxing Crescent:

As the moon begins to wax, focus on growth strategies. Implement marketing initiatives to increase visibility and attract new customers. Explore potential partnerships or collaborations to expand your business's reach during this phase.

?? First Quarter:

The First Quarter Moon is a call to action. Address challenges and obstacles head-on. This is the time to implement changes or improvements based on early feedback from the initial stages of your projects or campaigns.?Don’t waiver – stay true to your goals and push forward with your plans.

?? Waxing Gibbous:

Momentum is building, and you may find your labours are starting to succeed. Observe your wins and align your hopes with what the universe delivers. Analyse the performance of your initiatives and gather data or feedback. Use this information to make informed decisions and further hone your strategies.

?? Full Moon:

The Full Moon marks a time for celebration and acknowledgement. Celebrate successes and milestones achieved during the month. Evaluate completed projects and acknowledge the hard work of you and your team. This is a moment of reflection and gratitude.

?? Waning Gibbous:

As the moon begins to wane, you might feel more introspective at this time of the month. Embrace that, turn your thoughts inward and review your progress and practice gratitude for your successes. Consider what aspects of your business need releasing. Identify and let go of what's not working, whether it's outdated processes, unproductive strategies, or products that no longer serve your business goals.

?? Last Quarter:

The Last Quarter Moon prompts reflection. Take a deep breath, and then let it all go. Release those worries and insecurities, wave goodbye to habits that are holding you back and make a positive change. Take the time to analyse the outcomes of the month. Reflect on successes and challenges. Use these insights to restructure plans for the upcoming lunar cycle, making adjustments as needed.

Your cup might feel empty around now, as the energy from the moon fades. This is the time to rest, recharge and prepare yourself for the next cycle. Spend some time on yourself, and practice self-care and mindfulness. This downtime allows for rejuvenation before the start of a new lunar cycle.
