The video depicts the challenges with Sales and Marketing when they are not aligned, so let's discuss how best to truly foster a partnership.
The Importance of Alignment
According to Forrester, organizations have a 19% faster growth and 15% higher probability. Aligning sales and marketing breaks down silos fosters better communication, and ensures both teams are working towards common goals. This synergy leads to a more cohesive strategy, improved customer experiences, and ultimately, higher sales.
Strategy for Alignment
As we are in sales, to ensure alignment with marketing, we should follow these tips...
Find our counterpart. Find out who our counterpart is and reach out and get to know them such as their experience, what got them here, their family, etc while sharing about ourselves as well.
Understand the strategy. Learn what their marketing strategy is, the campaigns, resources they are leveraging, messaging, and anything else. Our job is to share with them what we are seeing out there, what our prospects and clients are saying, etc.
Co-create and collaborate. We should meet with them regularly to help them create their marketing resources, ensure their campaign is on point, and anything else.
When we align, revenues soar.
