My 2022 New Year's resolution was to learn something new every month. I tried piano, sign language classes, and painting! But two months into the year, I realized my goal was a bit unrealistic. Like many people in our industry, I pivoted—and I’m glad I did.

I opted to try to learn one new thing and learn it well—I decided to stick with painting and I love it so much!

2022 gave me so many wins (and not just my newfound artistic pursuits!). From mainstream media mentions in New York to sunny Miami for the Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference (see the write-up here), it was quite the year.

I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite memories of 2022 with you.

In 2022, I proudly:

• Was added to the?Linkedin Creator Program as their first cannabis content creator?
• Joined SMCLA (aka Social Media Club Los Angeles, a social media nonprofit) as a board member
• Had the distinction of being named as Top Marketing Honoree by The Bluntness
• Spoke on the NCIA cannabis influencer marketing webinar?
• Achieved 5,000 subscribers (and counting) to the Moon High newsletter!

The media spoke pretty highly of me in 2022 (no pun intended):

• The Spokesman-Review newspaper in Spokane, Washington sought my advice on cannabis social media marketing
• Cannabis retailing magazine MG asked me about the effectiveness of advertising on Cameo
• All things cannabis blog High There invited me to share my story of living with CHS, and what it’s like working in cannabis despite my battle
• Canadian publication The Walrus got my two cents on how LinkedIn has blurred the lines between professional and personal social media
• Vegas Cannabis, the go-to industry and culture magazine in Nevada, featured my story in both its print and online publications
• The MIT Tech Review took my CHS story mainstream, examining the challenges I’ve faced both publicly and privately due to my illness

Our clients also garnered a fair bit of attention:

I averaged one press hit a week for clients this last year at Trailblaze, so listing them all would be a bit much. I will say my biggest and proudest win came in November when The New York Times mentioned client Ayr Wellness in Jackie Bryant’s story about Danksgiving.

My LinkedIn ghostwriting services paid off:

This year, I helped a handful of executives grow their voices on Linkedin. My clients experienced month-over-month growth on this important platform, which has emerged as the place to be for the cannabis industry.
