Hi friend,

I keep seeing posts pop up in my Instagram feed that talk about how the algorithm is not playing nicely.

And I get it… because it sometimes feels like Mr. Zuck is purposely not showing our posts.

While it may feel that way, I hate to break it to you… the algorithm isn’t out to get you.

The algorithm (I like to call him Mr. Al) is simply trying to keep as many users as possible on the app for as long as possible.

Because Mr. Al’s goal is to make his bosses (the social media platform) money. And they make money through ads.

So if we know that Mr. Al is money hungry and is fed by the attention of the people on the other side of the screen…

… then the question becomes, how can we convince Mr. Al that our posts are worthy of that attention?

The answer is found in this week’s podcast! I go super deep into the inner workings of Mr. Al’s job and how all his roles play together.

And yes, he can be sneaky… but he’s not against you.
