Launch of ALF Public Policy Activities 2024#ALFClosingTheCircle
We are proud to announce that we have successfully launched our?ALF Public Policy initiatives?that aim?to bridge the gap between research, policy-making, and on-ground implementation. These events are designed relying on a Euro-Mediterranean participatory approach, by linking civil society entities with researchers and policymakers.
In 2024, our series of events will cover 3 main intercultural public policy themes:
Having a "closing the circle” theme doesn’t mean we can do this alone, but it is rather an invitation to engage with all our stakeholders and help us enhance our programmes, strengthen civil society networks’ capacity, and our contribution to Euro-Med Policy frameworks.
1ST ALF Multistakeholder Policy Debate!
The 2-day event “Exploring the enabling conditions of youth engagement in Euro-Med participatory dialogues and decision-making processes” took place on April 16-17th and was hosted at the EESC - European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, Belgium. The event successfully brought together a wide range of participants, including experts, academics, practitioners from civil society organisations, and representatives from various institutions.During the event, participants delved into crucial topics such as how to effectively reach and identify youth who embody the diverse perspectives prevalent in the region. The focus was on ensuring their legitimacy and representativeness. Additionally, discussions revolved around the roles that governments, institutions, and civil society organisations play in equipping youth with the necessary skills, knowledge, resources, and opportunities. By doing so, they can empower young people to make meaningful contributions to participatory and decision-making processes.?

New?Initiative Launch
Because language is a mean of communication, at ALF we?tend to use the language understood by the majority in order to ensure that our programmes and initiatives reach as wide audience as possible. At the same time many Arabic speakers, frequently incorporate English terminology into their conversations due to its perceived universality.
