As we enter March, an eventful month for all of us at ALES GSA, we would like to remind you of a resourceful event we had for February and Black History Month. At ALES GSA, we do our best to represent the voices and concerns of all graduate students of our faculty and make it welcoming for everyone, any day at any time, no matter their background! We want to thank the Dean of our faculty Dr. Blade and President Bill Flanagan of the University of Alberta for participating and assuring us for their dedication to promote and acknowledge equity, diversity and inclusion in our community. By the end of March, we will be hosting the ALES Graduate Research Symposium for the fifth year in a row (first virtually, though). An event where graduate students will showcase the impactful and innovative work they conduct in our faculty.
We are also planning two panels with distinguished guest speakers focused on issues close to our programs and of global impact. We welcome all ALES alumni and those interested in the fields we work on. Please reach out if you want to be involved.
