Aldric's Observations (Feb 21 - Part 2): People Matters.

Although this article is intended to address "People Matters", I want to make a straight declaration upfront.

I am not a people person. As much as I would like to be, as hard as I try, it doesn't happen. And so, I choose to accept myself the way I am biologically engineered to be.

That said, it doesn't stop me from observing others at arm's length or through my laptop. It is this process that allowed me to be better because I can see the best of people, and the best of them that I want to learn from.

This week has been terrible. Friends and connections know that the social element of life does not bother me; the commercial aspect does. And many supporting anchors of the commercial aspect got shaky.

I don't intend to speak much on those topics that involve my business partners due to personal and professional respect, so I will share one anchor that I am solely in charged of the execution and results.

I had a chat with Shreya one evening over Zoom because I know from one of her Medium stories that she was hard hit by rejections from 3 major publications in a day. I understand how that felt because I have had comparable experiences. In fact, just today, just before the regular Bottomsup Perspective Livestream, I received 5 rejection emails from editors.

Not 1, not 2, not 3. It is 5 freaking rejections in a day. It is not a big deal for many. For me, I got rejected by 5 different girls of my dream (okay, okay, different dreams, alright?) within 2 hours. It was emotionally crushing even for someone like me. For those who think that I am an arsehole, well, you had your revenge.

So, yes Shreya, it is not easy. But we buckle on and push the envelope.

I got into the Bottomsup Perspective live-stream this morning expecting to be completely useless. I mean, today's episode is about Love. Oh, for f**k sake, Kevin, you are freaking killing me. Not to forget that I have not recovered from the serial rejections just before the show.

I was impressed. Our guests for this morning's episode are phenomenal. Kudos to Troy who is so darn wise when it comes to marriage, and Melissa who oooooh, should start selling audiobooks.

The episode that I revisited this evening during dinner was the previous episode where it was the BUP-F ladies gathered and spoke about love. They put a big smile on my face.

I was very impressed by the ladies.

The Nickies are huggies (Nick and Nicole), the Kwoks quarks (Kevin and Jenifer), TaJuanna loves quality Marijuana (All things quality), Gavrielle is casual, Jacqueline remains pristine and serene.

They are so crazy, yet so heartwarming. Hey ladies, let me tell you one thing. You 5 plastered the first smile on my face today at 6 pm. Thank you!

And as I sit and type this article at 1115 pm, reflecting on my day, I started wondering about the importance of people matters.

Naturally, we need to get some peace and quiet after a long day. Some human warmth will be good too.

Otherwise, I would be playing mobile games like how Jeremey would deal with a bad day.

Except ...... I probably won't do that.
