The ALCHEMIST
Another book I wished I had read earlier.
Simplistic but some amazing take-ways:
1) Fear is our biggest obstacle to progress: As humans our survival instincts are stronger than our ambitions. We often listen to our inner voice that is adverse to risk and constantly tries to safeguard us from potential pain.
2) For those who know what they want in life and are in pursuit of their destiny should also cherish their journey because sometimes the destination isn't what they have expected but gain wisdom from their journey.
3) Focus on yourself and your journey rather than everyone else. Sometimes we tend to be victims of our environment constantly looking for validation and acceptance, where we should really be focusing on our life story and becoming better versions of ourselves.
4) Take decisive action. We tend to linger on ideas and spend time planning far too long, and before we know the moment would have passed us by. In life it is far better to just pull the trigger. Sometimes its better to READY - FIRE - AIM
5) Understand your purpose in life. It would be good to know that we are all on this earth for a reason. However, many go through our lives unfulfilled and longing for a meaning for our existence. It is important that we look deep within ourselves and understand our purpose before it is time to leave this world.
6) Law of attraction: If you are a positive person, you will attract positive things. This is like the power of momentum. If you are on a winning streak, chances are you will keep winning. If you are miserable and sad, chances are you will attract negativity attached to that emotion.
7) Gain perspective of your life: Your pain may be someone else's least significant worry. Your fear could be someone's strength. Empathy and gratitude are important elements to find inner peace and be thankful for what you have.
