DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: The cases of the killing of people with albinism disorder (Albinos) could be eradicated when they are fully integrated in the sporting fraternity. I personally believe having an albino boxer or footballer, or indeed any other sport, would raise the profile of the illness. (posterboy)
Boxing is also good in that it's an indoor sport and so that IBF/Africa and Tanzania Pro Boxing Commission would campaign and encourage Albinos to join the mainstream sport so that they can be fully integrated in the industry. Logo for various sporting teams or clubs could be added to the hats/caps/sunglasses for Albinos.
This is part of the campaign currently taking place in Tanzania where the IBF/Africa, National Sports Council, Tanzania Pro Boxing Commission, Brigitte Alfred Foundation, Lolenga Mock Boxing and other individuals and organizations are involved.
IBF/AFRCA will fight to see that Albinos should be integrated into the sports teams, like anyone else. These are normal people just like anyone else and there is no need to treat them differently if we want to eradicate the ongoing persecution and killings of Albinos.
Albinos are been killed like non human and their body parts have become a high commodity to be used for good luck charms & in which craft rituals & ceremonies to make money, bring wealth and power. This is both cultural and a cross border problem in Africa.
Albinos are also killed at birth believing that they bring curse to the family. Others hide them indoors for years and die for missing necessary vitamins.
So, it is the cultural background and the way of thinking (mindsets) that needs to be changed and famous people (celebs), visibility and sports are an excellent way to do it.
Also international visibility so, that is why IBF/Africa has taken the necessary steps to campaign for the Albinos’s cause and against their killings.
The Knock-Out-Albinos-Killers is an international boxing event that would be used to launch this campaign in July in Tanzania.

The event that would be promoted by boxing of Aarhus, Denmark will be sanctioned, by both IBF/Africa and National Sports Council. The proceed from the tournament would be use to sunglasses and hats to the people with albinism disorder whose eyes lack pigmen in their iris causing the sunlight to overpower their visual field.
Bahamian couple Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fran Knowles is working with IBF/Africa to raise money and a firm to design and make special sunglasses for Albinos in Tanzania.
Already, Mr. and Mr. & Mrs. Jim Fran Knowles has organize with the Homestead Church in Florida, USA to make the cause for Albinos sunglasses as part of their Vacation Bible School this summer"
The Director of London based Director at Africa Trade Africa Association, Andrea Dalma Krizsak, has join the campaign against Albinos abuses.
There have been many brute killings and dismemberment & ultimate murders of albino citizens in Tanzania. We say laud and clear, STOP the Killing of ALBINOS NOW!
