Albini Prassa Proudly Co-Hosts Inaugural "Be a Watchmaker for a Day" Course at A.R.C., Revolutionizing Watch Education in Romania
Albini Prassa, is delighted to announce the first “Be a watchmaker fo a Day” course held at the Romanian Academy of watchmaking.
Created under the leadership of master watchmaker Mihai Ceciu ( Antic Horologivm ) and in association with entrepreneur Florin Niculescu ( Tavannes Watch Co. ) and Ion Schiau ( Albini Prassa ) as co-founders, the groundbreaking Academia Romana de Ceasornicaria (A.R.C.) in Romania reaches a new level. Together, we have established the first of its kind watchmaking school in the country in over 30 years, dedicated to educating young students and shaping the future of watchmaking.
On April 22, A.R.C., the venue chosen for the occasion, hosted its inaugural "Be a Watchmaker for a Day" course. This exciting initiative aims to showcase the school's offerings while providing watch enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to assemble a timepiece under real-life conditions. The course accommodated 12 watchmaker’s benches, offering participants an immersive experience into the captivating world of watchmaking.
For the first course, Albini Prassa provided the limited edition "Sageata Orientului" timepiece (www.sageataorientului.ro), adding an extra layer of challenge and excitement for the enthusiastic crowd in attendance.?
The opportunity to work with such a remarkable timepiece was a testament to the passion and dedication of the participants, among whom was none other than His Excellency the Swiss Ambassador Arthur Mattli, who graced the event with his presence as a special guest.
A.R.C. differentiates itself by implementing a comprehensive dual system, combining both apprenticeships and formal studies. This innovative approach ensures that students receive a well-rounded education, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the watchmaking industry. The "Be a Watchmaker for a Day" courses directly contribute to the success of the school, with all revenues generated going towards supporting its mission.
