Albert’s Acumen: The Blessings of a New Day for the Closure of Past by Adnan Qaiser – Episode-1
Dear Friends:
From today, I am starting a new series of conversational literature, a set of literary compositions using an imaginary, inspirational, and intellectual dialogue between a Master and his Butler as a metaphor for our everyday life’s challenges.
N’joy the read!
I have had enough of this life, Albert. I think, I should begin by living each day as my last?
On the contrary, Sir, you better start to take each day as your first day in this world?
You mean I should face and confront all the challenges of life, all over again, Albert?
Don’t you ever wish, you had an opportunity to “re-wind” your life, only to deal with the problems and difficulties differently, Sir?
Ah, yes, I do. But the time has lapsed, my dear. And I have gone too old to bring back all those precious years, Albert?
Remember Master, time remains a relative thing. It only exists in our imagination. If for a moment you lose your preoccupation with the past, present or future, you will begin to see each opportunity and every challenge in a new perspective. A perspective, gained through your newfound wisdom, facing losses and gains in life?
You mean I should start viewing my life’s problems in light of my past experiences and what lessons I learned through them, Albert?
Exactly, Master. Remember, life’s problems are a “continuum of events.” Put in another way, our life keeps on repeating itself unless we learn our lessons through “cosmic consciousness” or awareness of what is right and wrong. It gives you “second chances” to put things right so that they may arrive at their logical conclusion, as destined by mother nature. And nature remains the most logical force or energy, if you will, guiding our daily lives?
Oaky Albert. So what I understand from your rather lengthy deliberation, that the “unending challenges of life” which have weathered me down over the years are actually the lessons that I have not learnt. And unless, I put my wrongs, right, the cycle of obstacles shall continue ceaselessly?
Precisely Sir. Remember, “things do not end, unless they end handsomely.” And if they have not ended propitiously, they keep reincarnating themselves in different forms and manifestations.
That’s why I counsel you to start taking your life as a new blessing, with each day bringing a new promise and opportunity to deal with everyday’s grief, sorrows and bliss with a new resolve and with your renewed acumen and forbearance?
Very well Albert. Let’s begin my life afresh. And let me fix all my wrongs, all my inadequacies and all my mishandlings through life’s second chance?
Happy Birthday Master. I will put just one candle on the cake, this evening ...
