1. Agriculture

Food innovation challenge: up to 50% eligible project costs will be provided. Letter of intent due on July 7, 2022. Full proposals deadline: September 16, 2022.

AgriAssurance: Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Component: up to $100,000 funding. Deadline: September 30, 2022, or until funding has been fully committed.

Genome Canada is launching a new?Climate Action Genomics Initiative?with approximately $30 million available funding. Deadlines: LOI- Sept. 2022; Application – Jan. 2023.

AgriCommunication Program: Applicants may apply for funding up to 70% of total eligible costs. Application is ongoing until ongoing basis until September 30, 2023.

The?2022 Canadian Agri-Food Automation and Intelligence Network (CAAIN) Competition for the Smart Farms Program: up to $5 Million funding available. Application is a continuous intake.

Efficient Grain Handling Program: The maximum grant funding an applicant can receive from the program is $100,000 over the program term.

2. Arts and Culture

Dance Individual Project Funding: This opportunity awards up to $15,000 for a specific dance project. Deadline: September 1, 2022.

Canada History Fund?supports the production of learning materials, the organization of learning activities and the creation or maintenance of networks. Deadline: September 15, 2022.

Media Arts Equipment Acquisition Fund: valued up to $30, 000 grant. Deadline: November 16, 2022.

Original Peoples Investment Program: Total funding available for this program is $650,000. Deadline:?October 2022.

Bob Etherington Heritage Conservation Fund: Apply for funding to support attendance or delivery of training. Deadline: first working day of October.

Check out the?Museums Assistance Program (MAP)?programs and receive funding in the preservation and presentation of heritage collections. Deadline varies.

3. COVID

Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: COVID-19 Resilience stream:?The maximum size of projects under the stream is set at $10M total eligible costs.

The?Jobs and Growth Fund?provides funding to businesses and organizations to help create jobs and position local economies for long-term growth. Learn more.

The?Tourism Relief Fund (TRF)?is a $500-million national program to support the tourism sector in Canada.

Work-Sharing Program: special measures for employers affected by the downturn in business related to COVID-19 effective March 15, 2020 to September 24, 2022.

Indigenous Community Business Fund: access funding to support their community-owned businesses whose revenues have been affected by COVID-19.

The?Digital Economy Program?helps small businesses take their businesses online.

The?Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI)?is a national program that will provide $250 million over three years to help the Canadian aerospace sector.

Arts Presentation Fund for COVID Recovery:?the City of Edmonton allocated funds for artists to present and perform their work. Application is still ongoing.

The?Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative (MFESI)?is a two-year, $200-million national fund to help major Canadian festivals survive and adapt to the pandemic.

4. Employment | Varies

The FREE government funded?Self Employment Training Program?offered virtually at Microbusiness Training: next SE class starts August 8, 2022.

Engaging youth leaders to encourage organizations to apply for funding under the?Youth Innovation Component of the Enabling Accessibility Fund. Deadline: October 17, 2022.

Alberta’s government is helping students gain hands-on skills by supporting?Calgary Economic Development’s new work-integrated learning (WIL) pilot program. Learn more.

Hire a co-op student from the University of Victoria to join your team.

TECTERRA Hire is now open: qualify for a non-repayable grant equivalent up to $50,000.

Alberta Construction Associations: Wage subsidies available up to maximum of $5,000. Learn more.

TECHNATION’s Career Ready Program: up to $7000 is awarded to employers hiring students from under-represented groups. Apply now for Fall 2022 program.

The?Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG)?helps you pay for expenses while you train as an apprentice in a designated Red Seal trade. Application is ongoing.

5. Environment/CleanTech

Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP): Application is open until August 11, 2022.

Application for?Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative?is now open. Deadline: August 18, 2022.

Advancing Hydrogen — Competition One: New hydrogen projects will share $20 million in funding to accelerate clean energy development in Alberta. Intake proposal deadline: September 6, 2022.

ERA is seeking innovative CCUS technologies: Total funds available is $19 million. Deadline: September 12, 2022.

Energy Innovation Program – Carbon capture, utilization and storage RD&D Call: up to $50 million in support for FEED studies for large-scale CCUS facilities. Deadline to submit Expression of Interest: October 3, 2022.

6. Export

Canada – Spain 2022 collaborative industrial research and development call for proposals: receive up to $500,000 CAD reimbursement. Canadian registration deadline: August 17, 2022.

Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) – Partnership development activities (PDA): funds Up to 50% of eligible costs. PDA missions in Germany and South Korea are now open until August 26, 2022.

CanExport Community Investments:?provides non-repayable contributions up to $500,000. New applications for the 2023 call for proposal starts in September – October 2022.

Alberta Export Expansion Program: up to a combined maximum of $25,000 in approved grant agreement per program year. Now accepting applications.

Export Readiness – Micro Vouchers: with up to $20,000 funding. Set to end on May 1, 2023 or when all funds are disbursed.

Soft Landing: Scale From Home:?Canada’s Tech Network’s Soft Landing:?Scale From Home program offers qualified tech-driven startups and scale-ups exposure to digital business opportunities by offering $4,000 CAD in reimbursable marketing and sales expenses.

7. Indigenous

The?Aboriginal Business Investment Fund (ABIF): Application is now open until September 30, 2022.

First Nations Environmental Contaminants Program: supports in identifying, investigating and characterizing the impact of exposure to environmental hazards.?Deadline: October 21, 2022.

Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles Program (iMHZEV)?provides incentives of up to $200,000. Learn more.

Circuit Rider Training Program: Trained water and wastewater system operator. Learn more.

The?Community Policing Grant?will offer up to $30,000 to Indigenous and municipal communities. Learn more.

Post-Secondary Partnerships Program: supports First Nations in defining their own partnerships with educational institutions. A call for proposals will take place in fiscal year 2022 to 2023.

8. Municipalities

Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles Program (iMHZEV): incentives of up to $200,000. Learn more.

The?Water for Life Program?provides cost-shared funding. Open until November 30, 2022 for funding approval in 2023.

Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP): receive funding up to 75% of project costs. Deadline: November 30, 2022 for funding approval in 2023.

The?Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP)?provides funding to municipalities under 4 funding streams. Open until November 30 for funding in the following year.

Electric Vehicle Charging Program: the Government of Alberta, is providing $3.4 million in rebates for the installation of EV charging infrastructure. Check here.

9. Non-Profit

Alberta’s government is investing $4 million to help get more Alberta kids and youth active. Deadline: August 7 or?until funds are distributed.

Donation Fund Program:?Up to $350,000 in matching funds are being made available. Open for donations until August 30, 2022.

You can now apply for grants up to $500,000 through the third round of the?Civil Society Fund. Deadline: September 2, 2022.

CIP Project-Based grant: provides funding to new community-based programs, initiatives, events and publications. Next deadline: September 15, 2022.

Enhanced Capacity Advancement Program: funding of up to $150,000 annually. The next multi-year funding cycle intake is anticipated for the fall of 2022.

Applications are now open for $50 million in funding in 2022-23 for non-profit child care spaces. Check?here.

10. Post Secondary | Varies

Pre-announcement for Alliance Missions: Anthropogenic greenhouse gas research: Letters of Intent deadline: September 2022.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships?are valued at $70,000 per year (taxable) for two years. Deadline: September 21, 2022.

SSHRC and Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) have launched this?Knowledge Synthesis Grants competition?to mobilize social sciences and humanities research. Deadline: September 1, 2022.

Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program: maximum of $1.65M support over six years. Deadline: September 22, 2022.

Alliance Consortia Quantum grants: NSERC will provide support for 100% of the eligible costs of research through this program. Deadline: October 21, 2022.

NSERC Alliance – Alberta Innovates Advance Program: funding up to $150,000 per year and can be for up to two years in duration. Application is ongoing.

11. Technology | Varies

Robot round-up – Advanced robotics platforms and control solutions: The IDEaS program will be investing $1.6 billion in innovations for defence and security. Deadline: August 2, 2022.

NRC?is seeking?potential therapeutics to treat respiratory disease?by targeting viral infection, replication and/or address associated co-morbidities. Deadline: August 29, 2022.

Plastics challenge: Do you have what it takes to solve Innovation Solutions Canada’s plastics challenge? Apply now! Deadline: August 31, 2022.

Apply for ACT4 Call: Sept. 12, 2022 deadline.

The?Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is seeking a technology, procedure or technique that provides the means to detect concussions. Deadline: September 12, 2022.

NSERC Alliance – Alberta Innovates Advance Program: Individual proposals can request up to $150,000 per year and can be for up to two years in duration.

The?Carbon Capture and Utilization program?supports Alberta SMEs with technologies that convert carbon dioxide into useful products with significant commercial value. Learn more.

The?Boost Your Business Technology grant?offers support to Canadian-owned small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) who want to adopt new digital technologies.

NGEn’s Cluster Building: provides up to $150K funding. Learn more.

Alberta’s government is committed to provide the confederacy with a $300,000 capacity grant for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

More than $58.7 million from the?Water for Life and the Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP) grant programs will support 33 water infrastructure projects across the province.

Alberta’s government is providing Innovate Edmonton with $1.8 million over three years for?local entrepreneurs to pilot their products.

The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) will provide up to $500,000 to support Avatar Innovations’ venture studio, Avatar Accelerator.

Alberta’s government is giving $11 million to seniors?to help fight inflationary increases to accommodation costs for 2022-23.

Alberta’s government is providing $87 million over three years to improve access to mental health and pediatric rehabilitation?supports for children and youth.
