Alaska Animals We Love You

Animal songs and poems, found in Alaska Animals, We Love You books 1 & 2 have had an amazing journey!! They started with a need for catchy materials with which to teach 17 elementary kids to speak English, at North Star School, in Anchorage School District. Teachers LaVon Bridges and Alice Wright decided to create their own musical materials with which to teach these children from China, Spain, Mexico, and Korea. These songs and poems worked!!! The children loved these works, learned to sing and therefore speak about animals, as a start to their English learning.

LaVon and Alice went on to teach separately after that, for 15 years, using these catchy works from their files, for teaching in the English Language Learning and Special Ed Programs. THEN they decided to publish!

Wow! They published the first book in the year 2005, and later the 2nd book in 2017. About 12,000 books have been sold, blessing children ages 0-12 with the great CD's, colorful pictures, hard covers, ostinatos (repeating parts), music notation, and science-based fun music. I am so grateful that LaVon and I had this exciting and inspiring experience.
