Fire alarm system it’s a critical alarm system of a fire or smoke #condition enabling people to react quickly and #evacuate safely.

Today’s computerize alarm system is integrated with many building components such as air handling and venting system, fire doors and elevators

The basic function is the same, they detect smoke, fire and sprinkler system and send an alarm to occupants and those who can take action.

Initiating Device

Initiating device is any component that provides incoming signals to the fire alarm controlling unit, Let's say  it may be a #smoke detector on the ceiling or a heat detector in the #machine room

A heat detector is an initiating device with either activates at a certain temperature or fixed temperature type or response to the raid of temperature change.

#Supervising ##Station

When an alarm is transmitted off the protected premises, it may go directly to the fire #department, more often it will go to the #supervising #station

A supervising station it’s a facility which monitors for alarms or trouble signals which transmit the signals to a fire department and notify responsive personnel that takes action and also keeps records and create a report

#Inspection and #Testing

Some #fire alarm system transmits signals over mini simple circuit interfacing with the circuit and the master box. The master box may double as a manual pool box for the general public.

All other initiating  alarm devices should be inspected manually, make sure heat detector devices haven’t been painted over or rendered ineffective on new #construction, check smoke detectors for #blockage or contamination, make sure nobody has left in place what supposedly a temporary cover to prevent #contamination.

Most initiating Alarm  devices must be tested annually, a few such as water flow devices, valve temperature switches,radiant energy fire detector,need to be tested more frequently.
