Alaris 3.5.28 Webinar Summary
We’ve come a long way to this version of our system and we are happy to announce that soon we’ll launch Alaris 3.5.28. This version contains many improvements, in this article we’ll cover some of the most important ones.
Two-factor authentication
We have introduced a two-factor authentication capability, which is performed with the help of the Google Authenticator application. It enhances the security posture of the system, protects user accounts from various threats, allows for efficient administrative control, and ensures a safer and more reliable user experience.
REST API and Enterprise API
We’ve made some enhancements related to the methods of REST API and Enterprise API. Just like always, with every new version of the software we improve and update both the REST API and Enterprise API methods to enhance the automatic data handling, data accuracy and compliance.?
Rate management
In the new version of the platform we have made some changes to all aspects of rate management: rate export, rate import and rate compilation.
We also added the technical possibility to specify an exclusive list of MCCMNC codes. So if you need to exclude rates for some destinations from the rate generation process, you can do that now with the help of the MCCMNC exclusive list. You just select the required MCCMNC codes and the system will ignore these codes when generating new SMS rates.
Text translation
In this version text translation has been added for concatenated messages if the number of segments is reduced after translation. The system will apply a translation rule to the text of the message and the number of message segments will be reduced.
In the Translation rules interface, the Code list and Error and status codes tabs have been reworked. So now we have the possibility to modify not only protocol-specific codes, but also codes and statuses pertaining to message delivery.
A-number based billing
Just like in the case with the logic of handling products with A-number based billing. It has been reworked following the updates of the European law. The legal requirement now is to track both the A-number country and network.

New billing increment logic
The new increment logic is as follows: when a call with the specified prefix reaches the predefined length, the billing “stops counting” and will take into account only the necessary number of seconds!
It will allow you to charge a client only for the first, let’s say, 300 seconds of a call, in case of the per second payment scheme. You will need to set the new field Limit interval to 300 and the billing will take into account only those 300 seconds when creating the invoice and the rest is free of charge!
