Alamy cuts photo commission to 40%

The stock photography company Alamy has announced on social media that it will be cutting the submitting photographer's commission from 50% to 40% as of mid February 2019.
Their announcement is a master class in how not to do PR. There does not appear to be a script, structure or bullet points and the graphics are boring. James West, Alamy CEO, rambles, uses Brexit as an excuse and comes across in a condescending tone.
A number of photographers have already reacted and they are removing their stock images from this site. For a stock business to operate there needs to be trust and a partnership between the library and the contributor. It would seem that Alamy has lost this.
