Internal Alignment Part 5: Understanding The Functionality Of The School Of The Spirit

Sometimes when we begin to walk with God, oftentimes there are several ways we could be deemed to disobedience without even knowing it. When one is undergoing the school of the spirit, there’s no time duration for your waiting period. The preparation season has 4 stages that are prominent for anyone who decides to walk with God and be schooled by the living spirit of God. There’s the first stage which is the luring stage, the second stage is the awakening stage, the third stage is the pruning stage and the forth stage is the waiting stage. These stages could last from 1 to 10 years, depending on the individual’s experience, willingness to admit and submit and the finally the kind of part or role you’re meant to play in the establishment of God’s kingdom. Everyone’s walk is different and so is the experience, but one thing is slightly the same and that is the process, procedure and outcome. God is never changing, he is always the same but due to the preposterous nature of man, he uniquely shapes everyone’s life based on the availability of one’s mind and the willingness to fully let go of control. One thing i’ve noticed about God is that he’s always supportive when we decide to take control of our lives and the outcome of our lives from his hands. God willingness to let go of control is astonishing, we might think that God is in control but our stubbornness and ignorance has already snatched the wheels from God’s hands, therefore putting God behind so that we can deliberately or obsessively control our lives with or without even knowing that we are in control. One of the most prominent act of every believer is patience. This simple but not easy act is virtue and rewarding, only if you decide to stick with the divine plan and to lean not on your own understanding. Without much illustrations, we can all agree that true patience is difficult to some, whereas others might find it totally impossible to do. In the midst of adversity, chaos and stormy life, may believers tend to loose hope and faith in the divine as soon as things don’t go their way as planned. Or as soon as they don’t receive what they ask for when they need it, people are likely to obliterate their trust completely and go the other way round. I’m not here to condemn anyone or swiftly pass judgement on anyone, rather to encourage and enlighten you on my experiences with God so far.? Learning to walk with God has proficient lessons attached, Certain sacrificial acts one must exhibit in other to attain blessings from God, first one must be ready to pick up their cross and follow Christ. In such process, the bible calls it ‘long-suffering’, which means becoming the sacrificial lamb to break certain generational curses and karmic cycles that has kept your family from enjoying the prosperous and fruitful life that God has ordained your family with. Well, in our modern world today y'all can identify with me that our society has a major influence on us. We're faced with negative and positive influences and that has shaped-shifted our lives & beliefs. To be able to discern what's right and wrong we must be able to accept the holy spirit and fully surrender to the will of God even if it may seem difficult to. Disobedience as a believer is a very common repetitive sin that keeps us going in painful cycles over and over again. Oftentimes we ask why does God not speak to us, The answer is God speaks to us every second, ever minute, every hour and every day The question is are we really attentive to adhere to God’s voice? Do we really know how to discern the voice of God from the voice of the enemy or even our own voice? As I began to shade my old self, old beliefs, old ways to make room for the new self to surface. We know this as "Spiritual Awakening". Awakening is all about discovering your true self & purpose and walking in your destiny path with so much love and light. Even in the darkest moments, God speaks to us but do you seek his words? Do you pray and believe in him to help you out of any challenges you're faced with?

Many people think that for God to speak to you, one would hear a loud roaming voice with thunder from heaven just as movies depicts and then God will start talking to you. But that ain't true, I had that kind of belief growing up as a child all down to my teenage years and the early years of my youth. I know what it means to hold certain Religious beliefs that aren't beneficial to us, majorly on the negative beliefs.

Recently, I became impeccably impatient with the outcome of my life. I believe God has put me in this season where I have to totally depend on him, he’s taken away everything that I thought I needed that wasn’t just a distraction but also something that was idolising without even knowing it. These includes friends, relationships and finances that was stirring my mind and heart away from God. I realised that I barely made out time to pray even when I had my friends around, I always wanted to hangout with them and spend so much time with them that praying became an excuse to me. I started chasing the wrong things, going to the wrong places and spending time with the wrong people. All these made me create lesser time to study, pray or even worship. My curiosity to exit the waiting season was drastically at all time high as I became angry, guilty and ashamed to be myself even in the midst of my friends. And I’m not in anyway trying to validate my actions by means of this message, rather this article serves as my conviction and reconnection testimony, drifting away from God to chase materialistic things and how I found myself again and reconnected back to God. I know many readers would probably have one or two things to say, how I’m supposed to stay on course and not fall short. But here’s the truth, no-one is perfect, we all make mistakes sometimes and we act stubborn at times too, when we fail to adhere to God’s word, we easily fall off. I believe my testimony could snap someone who’s likely drifting away right now, and help them rekindle their relationship with God again. When we know God's promises, we trust him and we pray, we should never hold onto worries or fear anymore. We should never doubt if God will ever come through for us. The problem is not our prayers being answered, rather we should be more concerned about drawing closer to God, letting go of worries and fear and start trusting God with total dependability in his ability to give us our heart desires. So let’s talk about the four stages one must go through if they’re been led by God.

1. The Luring Stage: The luring stage is a very important, yet ignored stage of one’s journey. This is the phase where God allows the enemy to encounter you in a very devastating way that you’ll begin to wonder if God is truly God. Just like the story of job in the bible, even though God trusted job, he wasn’t exempted from the test. God deliberately allowed satan attack job and wrecked his life, Job was severely tortured by satan, afflicted with sickness and he lost everything. The bible made the story of Job so clear that, Job was faced with two decisions, to either turn away from God or to remain faithful to God. Unbeknownst to Job, he wasn’t aware that he was in for a long ride with God. Remember, the devil had to take permission from God to attack Job to his core, The bible emphasised on this passage in Job 1:7-12 and it reads ‘The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” “Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”The LORD said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.’ This bible passage reminded me that nothing works or is permitted to work without the permission of God. Many people are in this luring stage right now, where their world seems crumbling and may seem God’s turned deaf ears on their prayers. I’m here to encourage you that God hasn’t neglected you, even though it may seem that the enemy is attacking everything in your life right now, take a good look at Job, he passed the test because he remained faithful even in the midst of chaos. Job didn’t stop praying, he continued knowing that there’s always a God to answer someday.
2. The Awakening Stage: This stage births the awareness of one’s purpose, this is where one snaps out of the matrix only to question everything. In this stage, everything may seem to fight you for god knows sake. As your perception and awareness begins to expand, everyone who’s not a vibrational match begins to fall off. People begins to leave your life so fast, that you’d begin to think that you’re the problem in that relationship. Well, that’s not true. The truth is God is the one removing those people himself, all you have to do is to surrender to his will and allow him do his job. I noticed something about God and that is the fact that he doesn’t joke with the awakened ones who genuinely want to walk in their calling. God takes such people so seriously and he makes it his job to enlighten such individual, strip them of unnecessary things, baggages and concealed emotions, also known as trauma. Doing so, such soul could begin ascending from the 3rd dimension to higher dimensions of awareness. The most important factor of ascension is to gain clarity, knowledge and understanding of whom the creator is and more importantly the unveiling on one’s true self. There are certain areas of oneself that is completely hidden from such individual and would remain concealed until one begins ascending. These hidden part of ourselves includes knowledge, gifts, wisdom, clarity, understanding, raw divine powers, and the secret key to one’s destiny, which can only be unveiled to such individual and would be available for accessing only when you’ve surpassed certain dimensions and realms. An awakened being cannot access everything and every knowledge of themselves immediately, time and steadiness would tell if one’s truly ready to access and accept their true values and more importantly walk in their purpose.
3. The Pruning Stage: The Pruning stage is the most painful yet empowering phase that one ought to go through in other to acquire their god-given blueprints. This not easy phase births pain, transformation and purpose as one begins shading old the old self to be reborn in Christ Jesus. Verily I say unto you, this is the most powerful stage one ought to be in, as it requires all it takes to fully grasp true identity and more importantly, patience is required in other to attain all that is meant to aid your next step with God. Most believers quit at this phase, because they become scared of who they’re becoming or who they’re emerging to be. However, if God is the one in control, there’s nothing to be scared of as everything else falls in place and what’s not, automatically gets taken away. The bible made a reference to this 2 Samuel 7:14, 15 - 16 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. This bible passages reminds us that God chastens those he loves, not as a form of punishment but as a disciplinary action in other to correct the ways of such child. We are all children of the creator, God doesn’t look at the age of a being before he could use that person, rather he acknowledges the heart and mind of such being, he picks him up and transforms them into pure fine gold. But we must be willing to walk into the purifying fire in other to be purified and sanctified before we can emerge as pure fine gold.
4. The Waiting Stage: Romans 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Psalms 37:7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. i specifically highlighted these scriptures as a backup to my understanding of what patience is. When walking with God, there’s always a phase or stage where everything seems stagnant and it may look like there’s no progress. In this stage, the devil who’s also the deceiver and lier would approach you to not just tempt you, but also using you to destroy you. When I understood that no one can literally destroy you and if anyone should destroy you it should be you destroying you, or even you given the enemy a legal right to destroy you. In this waiting phase, the devil comes with several tactics to ensure he gets one last blow or one last try again in destroying you. So the only thing he does is to attack your mind, making your thoughts conflicted so that such individual becomes impatient and frustrated with God. In this phase, God allows you to rest and recover from all that you’ve been through, God is so kind enough not to allow you enter this next chapter of your life afflicted with pain or with ill health. So he gives us a period of rest and a period of recovery. Many believers who’re in this phase, might become illusive with their thought, believing the lies of the enemy saying that God has brought you this far and left you hanging in this phase and that isn’t true. That’s a big lie from the devil, all you have to do is to rebuke the devil and his voice by the word of God. It is written that God who’s started a good work in my life, is faithful to finish that which he’s begun. Philippians 1:6 says; being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. The waiting phase might seem frustrating at first and it’s totally normal. Most times we might not understand what God’s doing in our lives, I’ve been there too and I totally understand how it feels. I might not know all the scriptures of the bible, but if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it is the fact that God is amazingly amazing and that I have a substantial knowledge of whom God is to me, I have experienced this God in many different ways and each time I feel I know his ways, it happens to be that the knowledge I think I have about God is just one of his many ways. Of cause, in my waiting stage I became lost, frustrated and tired at some point. But here’s what I’ve discovered about God, ‘We don’t walk with God because we can’t keep up, rather he walks with us, and he waits for us whenever we fall behind, he’s always there to pick us up too.’

I believe that this article will not just help anyone reading, but will also develop and encourage brethren who’s also experiencing and going through these phases right now. I want you to understand that we are in this together and God is always with us. I want you to keep believing God even when there’s no evidence of what you’re believing or praying for. I want you to remain steady with God and never let go, trust me I wouldn’t be telling you this today, if I had given up in my waiting or pruning phases. Though it hurt me so much, I missed the fact that my old self was been stripped away, I know for a fact that I became extremely comfortable in my comfort zone and I was scared of what’s out there. I was thinking about the what if’s that I forgot to be grateful for what I have now. Even though it may seem like I wasn’t sure of what God was doing with my life and it made me tear up so much, but I understood that it’s okay to cry, because when you cry and scream it all out, that is how you heal your pain and transmute that energy. So always let go and let God do his thing in your life. Even when you don’t understand, trust the process.
