AKCP Announces Update to the SP2+ with Locking DC Jack Feature

AKCP, the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of SNMP enabled environmental, power and security monitoring products for the data center and server rooms have announced an update to the SP2+ with a locking DC Jack for added security of power connection.

The AKCP sensorProbe2+ (SP2+) is a world renowned sensor monitoring device. A development of the popular SP2 device, it supports a host of AKCP’s environmental, power and security sensors such as cabinet thermal maps, power meters and swing handle locks.

The product recently had an update to the DC power jack. “The SPX+ base units are already equipped with this, and customer feedback pushed us to add this as a feature to the SP2+” says Nicholas Barrowclough, President of AKCP. The locking DC jack features a threaded connection that ensures security of connection. For critical infrastructure monitoring it is essential that the SP2+ device is reliable and can send alerts when required.

Accidental disconnection of the power supply can lead to failure of the device to alert in case of a sensor critical status, or result in unnecessary service call outs to reconnect power. The locking DC jack will ensure that this does not happen, and there’s no risk of accidental disconnection.
