AIVES, Accessibility and Innovation
AIVES, the acronym for "Art and Innovation: Visions, Emotions, Sensations", made possible to experiment a new way of enjoying works of art through an approach that involves as many senses as possible and that makes the art experience interesting, innovative and accessible to a wider public. It is a multisensory system: tactile paintings, replicated with the same materials as the represented objects, animated videos with 4D effects that, thanks to sounds, scents and vibrations, take the user in a journey inside and beyond the work of art.
Among the reproductions there are "The Room of Arles" by Vincent Van Gogh, with the exceptional collaboration of Roberto Vecchioni and Alessandra De Luca as narrators, and "Europa sul toro", a Pompeian fresco preserved in the MANN (National Archaeological Museum of Naples) that authorized the experimentation on this work. This last reproduction, told by the voices of the actors Francesco Colella, Romina Mazza and Salvatore Conforto, was made with the contribution of the prisoners of the penitentiary of Catanzaro. For this reason, the closing project final event will be held at the "Ugo Caridi" Prison Center in Catanzaro on November 11th.
The project, financed by the Regione Calabria funds and started in November 2017, obtained good results thanks to the experiments carried out in the IRIFOR center (the Institute for research, training and rehabilitation, section of Catanzaro), in the Cavazza Institute of Bologna and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, will be presented by Elena Console, for the TEA sas of Catanzaro, project leader; Valentina Rossetti, for the DIMEG of the University of Calabria; Stefania Mancuso, for the OMNIARCH of Lamezia Terme; Paola Rotella, for the STUDIO RUBINO in Catanzaro; Luciana Loprete for IRIFOR, UICI research organization, section of Catanzaro.
The event, entitled "Accessibility and innovation: esperienze alla mano", will be attended by the MIBACT Undersecretary of State, Anna Laura Orrico, the Councilor for Education and Cultural Activities of the Regione Calabria, Maria Francesca Corigliano, the Director of MANN, Paolo Giulierini, the National President of IRIFOR (Institute for Research, Training and Rehabilitation), Mario Barbuto, the Coordinator of the thematic museum Accessibility for ICOM Italy, Lucilla Boschi, and the Artistic Director of Tolomeo Museum of Bologna, Fabio Fornasari. The director of the Prison of Catanzaro Angela Paravati will do the honors.
