AI:The Speeding Train
I used to think the only way earthlings would stop slugging it out with one another was when the Mother Ship showed up and a very real and existential threat hovered over us all.
Well, the Mother Ship is here. But, it s not aliens, it’s AI and it’s no longer a threat,
It’s a growing assault.
Unlike other inventions, AI keeps learning and improving on itself, on it’s own.
Without a conscience it cannot and does not discern a benefit from a detriment.
That’s what humans should be doing do. ?
If inventions are used to benefit the common good, they are, of course, positive uses of our intellect and technology.
?When they are used to manipulate/replace/cancel humans and social structure, they are nothing short of weapons and their uses are unconscionable crimes against humanity. ?
There is not a person on the planet who will not, now or in the future, be immune to a version of AI that could result in harm to personhood, livelihood or well-being.
It’s time for an insistent, consistent and unrelenting demonstration of outrage and activism - a unified and organized crusade of individuals, organizations, unions, guilds, companies and commerce, the media and all other factions of the culture to campaign for the responsible and responsive regulation of AI.
Guard rails must be put in place to protect the general population against the third rail of self-serving opportunism, with actionable consequences for non-compliance.
The train is rattling through the station as we speak.?
Tick, tick, tick…..

1 年So, we are either a passenger on the train. Or, we're about to be hit by the train. If we don't call attention to the train. At this point, "All Aboard" seems like a poor call to answer. Marice, you have always been ahead of the curve. Please stay there. you help us all to make better choices.
