How AI has impacted your daily working life?
Embracing Artificial Intelligence is gaining significance for both companies and individuals, given its advantages. By automating daily tasks, it liberates time for more complicate and imaginative work. Furthermore, it empowers businesses to enhance decision-making precision and insight through swift analysis of extensive datasets.
Nevertheless, let's take a quick look at the past 70 years of Artificial Intelligence development.
It all began in the 1950s and 1960s with rule-based systems and symbolic reasoning. In the 1970s and 1980s, AI research moved to knowledge-based systems and expert systems. By the 1990s, machine learning and neural networks became popular, leading to breakthroughs in speech recognition, natural language processing, and image recognition.
In the 2000s, the focus on AI shifted to data-driven AI and big data analytics. As of 2023, AI is transforming industries like healthcare, finance, transportation, and entertainment. Its impact is expected to keep growing in the future.
In today’s fast-paced and competitive environment, companies and individuals who fail to adapt to Artificial Intelligence may find themselves falling behind in terms of efficiency and innovation. Therefore, it is essential for companies and individuals to embrace AI and use it to their advantage.??
Artificial Intelligence has gotten a lot better over the years, resulting in the creation of powerful tools usable by both individuals and businesses. These tools have proven highly effective in tasks from data analysis to streamlining processes and enhancing productivity.
AI-driven task automation incorporates a diverse range of functionalities.
Here are some examples:
Natural Language Processing (Stanford NLP, NLTK, SpaCy): Enables AI systems to comprehend human language for tasks like automated email responses, chatbot interactions, and voice recognition.
Optical Character Recognition (Tesseract, ABBYY, Amazon Textract): Allows AI to read and extract information from documents, invoices, and receipts, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
Sentiment Analysis (Azure Text Analytics, TextBlob, RapidAPI): Employs AI to analyze text or speech for sentiment or emotional tone, providing businesses with automated insights into customer feedback.
Predictive Analytics (IBM SPSS, RapidMiner, KNIME): Utilizes AI algorithms to analyze historical data, making predictions and forecasts that assist businesses in informed decision-making and resource optimization.
Image and Video Analysis (Clarifai, Amazon Rekognition, IBM Watson Visual Recognition): Employs AI for the analysis of images and videos, detecting objects, faces, and patterns. This facilitates tasks such as automated content tagging or surveillance monitoring.
AI is expected to transform workplaces, but its rapid development makes it challenging to predict all its future impacts.
According to a McKinsey survey, generative AI tools could potentially automate up to 70% of an employee's tasks, and AI might replace half of daily work activities by 2045, a decade earlier than previously estimated.
This shift is likely to affect knowledge-based workers with higher wages and educational requirements. However, experts emphasize that AI's main benefit is enhancing human productivity by working alongside people rather than replacing jobs.
Let’s see some benefits of this revolution:
But let’s go back to the question that opened this article: “How AI has impacted your daily working life?”, I asked this question to 16 Creative Professionals around the globe working in different sectors; here their answers:

Here are some quick thoughts about AI impacting my service design work:
1- Shorten research time: chatgpt gives a great starting point to scope out research and also understand new client sectors quickly;
2- Quicker synthesis: synthesising large bits of information is easier whether it is interview transcripts or breaking down complex information in presentations;
3- Visual stimulus for future thinking projects-- midjourney helps create stimulus both for internal brainstorms and for conveying ideas to the client for projects related to innovation and future;
4- Anxiety about levelling up-- as generic knowledge is now available to everyone including the client, on a personal level, there is all the more pressure to not remain mediocre in the output one generates. The other aspect is also the constant need to keep up with the super fast pace of evolution of news, laws, softwares using AI.

It does not really influence me a lot in my daily business. but i will defnitely check it out for future personal projects.
I m an UI artist and for some menus you need graphics content (menu backgrounds, overlays etc, you know). in the past i always created those by myself which got me distracted from my initial work, creating ui art. so this will become pretty handy for some future content…it will speed up some processes so to say.

There are few cases of using AI. Mostly it is chatGPT. I'm not a native English speaker, so often I use it when need a text which sounds native. In another case, I'm practicing some coding, not professional. Often chatGPT helps me to find some code solutions faster than Google.

AI, specifically chatGPT has streamlined my learning, allowing my work life to flow easier. I always got to dead ends when it came to problem solving in my work but AI how allowed me to ask unique questions and receive tailored answers. Giving me more direction and allowing me to get to the next stage of what im trying to achieve in my day, specifically problem solving. I see AI as a problem solver and gives my work direction. It helps me identify gaps what need filling and perfect my work flow.

I understand that there is a fear of change in many sectors, but I believe that within service design, it is a tool that can help us. Of course, we will have to adapt as the trend becomes more significant, but we need to recognize (and take advantage of) the opportunities that artificial intelligence provides.
In my case, I currently use it to find inspiration, to check the structure that a presentation could have, or the key points I shouldn't forget when discussing a certain topic. Although it could assist in data analysis, I confess that, for now, I still prefer doing it in the traditional way. I suppose it might have a more significant impact on the visual aspect of design, but in the strategic part of design, empathy is crucial, and that is something that cannot be generated by any other tool at the moment.

Ai, being introduced recently to most of the designers with such an extend that it started to make me scare in the start. But, to be honest the right use of Ai has helped product designers like me with a lot of UX research and to get answers more precisely than ever. I have been using openAi chatgpt to correct and inform myself more about ways to do certain task during UX research and also write certain UX copies for my design work. So making the right use of Ai is upon us.

In short, at the moment I don't feel that AI is my competitor. I use it from time to time (for example, to create photo collages or some complex illustrated characters), but not often enough to claim that this trend has completely entered my work life. And it's crucially important to understand that I'm a UX/UI Designer, i.e. feelings, emotions, empathy and similar traits (that are inherent only to a living being) are extremely important in my work. As for AI, it's deprived of this. Therefore, I keep on working as before???
Yazeed Al-Oyoun , Head of Product, Curieo Ai, Netherlands
As both a software engineer and a product management expert, I've increasingly seen AI revolutionize my work and the way I approach any task. In my product development work, it streamlined tasks like writing user stories, planning roadmaps, and conducting SWOT analyses, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. In software engineering, it's easily increased my efficiency by 70%. AI's role in facilitating rapid learning and adapting to new concepts is invaluable. It sparks creativity in product strategy and brainstorming, while also offering objective critiques that refine my work. Engaging with AI enhances my thought processes, especially in problem-solving and strategic thinking. Most importantly, AI helps me navigate information overload, keeping me focused on the essential aspects of my product management duties.
Analía Soledad Aguirre , UX/UI Designer, Freelancer, Spain
I think there is a difference between the use and the abuse of AI. On the work side, I think that this technology has had a positive impact (as long as it is used in a measured way) because it helps with the creation of content, gives me new ideas, helps with programming codes, etc. and knowing all the subjects, it is a good tool for getting out of situations where we are lazy to think but this is also not positive, that's why I refer to the use and not the abuse of the tool
Prosper Adaramola , Digital Product Designer, Freelancer, Nigeria
Personally, AI has affected me in both good and bad ways as a Product Designer.Positively in optimizing processes, and personalizing my learnings. In daily life, AI streamlines my tasks and enhances my convenience when I need to complete something on time. Without stressing or having to take time for ideation or generating concepts around a problem.
Negatively, I don't use the most important tool efficiently which is my brain. I tend to rely on different AI platforms for different tasks which makes me underrate the power of my brain.
So I need to let my brain support the majority of my design process;)
